Very good bit
A very good bit, of maintained properly. This is a louvre bit so it gets a LOT of use for shutters or blinds. Even medium size windows require a LOT of louvres...times 4 passes for each louvre. My project needed 99 louvres, at 20” (51 cm) each, so I used 24” stock ( 2 1/2 x 3/4 stock Select Pine) cut in half lengthwise on a table saw (yes, two passes for every cut). First point: using your finish length add about 1” (2.5 cm) on each end of stock to accommodate entry and exit variations which are pronounced with this bit. The middle is good, but both ends are very sloppy. Support during cutting is very important. I used two pieces of same-thickness stock to form a guide - first piece next to fence to hold down the stock vertically, second layered on first but offset lower to hold the stock laterally along top half (not top edge - the edge changes with each pass) similar to a feather board. And I used a feather board at the bottom edge. Again, every louvre requires 4 passes - one or each edge. For me, 99 x 2 foot (61cm) x 4 passes equals nearly 800 feet of routing required. This bit is very good quality and is up to it... with proper maintenance. I removed and resharpened (600 and 1200 diamond cards) halfway through. More would have been better. But more importantly, if the finish starts to look bad, stop and retighten your bit chuck. Do not wait. I used a new Triton router and still had to retighten 6 or 8 times. Can’t stress this enough. The bit is very good - if there is a finish problem (and you can hear and see it) then look to retighten your chuck first. Finally, do check the bearing screw regularly after first sharpening (you have to remove to sharpen). Mine came completely off during use - my fault for not checking. Retighten regularly. Overall, a really high quality bit. For a specialty bit it gets a lot of use, but works great. Highly recommend.

Qualidade mediana
A afiação não é de boa qualidade, muito diferente de produtos da freud ou amana.
