Yes, since this one is an Open well, you may use it with (for steam) or without (for dry heat) water in the pan.

How do you drain the water?

The Water goes into the Pans, so in order to drain the water you will have to remove the pans.

Does Not fit USA sockets!

I’ve purchased this item approximately 3 months ago. At this point I’m just about ready to sit it on the curb for free and I’ve never used it. The power cord does not fit into a general outlet. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing it. I reached out to the company and they were 0 help. Stay away from this company! I’ve searched high and low for the adapter and it doesn’t exist apparently. I’m guessing it’s foreign. You’re gonna have to find an electrician to rewire it.
