I have to admit when I first used this in the microwave, I stood right there ready to open the microwave if it turned out it wasn't actually microwavable, but there wasn't any problem, with or with out the silicone vented lid. The silicone lid had a tiny learning curve to it so it was on completely so it would seal correctly, but it works great, seals well, and the vent makes heating food clean and easy. I will be buying more of these so we can food prep lunches.
