I can attest to the better posture aspect of this cane. My wife is trying to get a powered wheel chair because she struggles to walk. We replaced her old cane with this one because this one is longer and she absolutely loves it and uses this when I cant push her manual chair. (My wife is blind and cannot use her blind cane and manual wheel chair at the same time so when she has to go out with out me unfortunately she has to try to walk the short distances that she preplans out. ) She says she can walk those same short distances more easily when she uses this cane and she says she doesnt worry about falling over as much when she is using this cane. She says she has corrected her balance many times while using this cane and the cane is fantastic in helping her adjust her balance so she doesnt fall over. She loves how grippy the base tip is. "And it's purple too!" I can attest to the fact that is it VERY purple and the color is very bright and "lovely" as my wife added. She says that the grip style can feel a little akward at first but once you get used to this style of grip youll realize you havent dropped it since buying it AND that you are standing more upright. She says she deffinately notices that this style cane does help her stand far more upright than when she was using her other cane " and its not JUST because its longer but more helpful because of the grip style. "

Works great for my wife, but has a hard time putting it somewhere in a restaurant or just to set it down somewhere.She got it to walk straight up not hunched over, it does that for her keeps her straight up.

But only if you order two! I use as walking sticks. Like the height adjustment. I am 5 ft 5 in and use all the length but one stop. They might not work well for very tall people. I changed the tips to regular cane tips—much better! Lighter and less likely to trip me. Also more stable.If you are leaning on a canoe, these won’t work. If you need help with balance they are great when used as a set. They fold and collapse so they are not impossible to travel with. I have a small narrow pouch they fit in. I find them helpful for balance.

I bought this out of curiosity. I carry a walking stick when i walk to help with balance, but it is a pain in the butt putting it down anywhere, so first it was the standalone feature that appealed to me. The handle looked intriguing, though I was not sure how much weight it could take off your feet with the thing held in front of you rather than like a cane, under so you could lean down into it. But this was inexpensive so I thought I would give it a try. Though there are no instructions it was easy to assemble and would easily break down to fit in a suitcase. It feels VERY solid. The height adjustment has a good range. And the handle!!! I don't pretend to understand the mechanics of it, but I am able to take a lot more weight off my feet with this than a regular cane, and with far less strain on my arm. What a wonderful tool! It does stand up by itself, though you need to make sure it is balanced right and not moving. And the purple color is gorgeous. I can't recommend this enough for someone who needs to ease some weight off his feet but hates using canes. Oh, and for anyone who has not used a full length walking stick before, they go down stairs MUCH better than a short cane.

I love this style! I feel better walking with it. My hands don't ache, and I stand up straighter instead of leaning, like I did with my old cane. It's lightweight, though it doesn't stand upright well by itself. However, I'm not bothered by that. You might want to know this if you need your cane to stand without holding it. I plan to buy adjustable handle foam covers because the handles are made of hard plastic.

It's a good cane, but the foot feels kind of clunky to me. But then I'm new to canes, so I will start out with no foot and see how I feel about it later.

After back surgery, it became clear that I might be stuck with a cane forever. I went from active retired mail carrier to active recovering back surgery patient with a freaking cane. Recovering from back surgery meant no ibuprofen for 6 months, and the inflammation in my (truly messed up in so many ways) arthritic, fallen-arched, bone-spurred feet and my arthritic hands exploded. I had carpal tunnel surgery in one hand and my feet became painful and unstable. Even after resuming ibuprofen, the damage was done. I'll need a cane forever.I have a really good offset cane: sturdy and solid. But while walking the dogs, I had increasing pain in the (not carpal tunnel surgery) hand due to the pressure on my palm. So I looked at this cane. Read all the reviews and decided to give it a try.Using this style takes some practice; it forces you to stand straighter (good) and not lean on it. It's very stable, even after I ditched the tip it came with and replaced it with a standard tip. It's something I can deal with far better than the old style.I read some reviews mentioning the hard handle and how padding would be nice. I had handle cushions that are actually made for walkers; they worked better with the old cane than ones marketed for canes. I use one around the handle of this one; the handle is hard, and even though you don't lean on it so much, it's still uncomfortable. I recommend trying walker handle cushions.Overall, this has improved my mobility comfort and eliminated the pain in my hand.
