A good parallel card. Works like it should.
Newer computers no longer seem to come with parallel ports. Seems fitting since new printers don't use them. But I needed one and the USB to Parallel cables did not do the trick.I purchased this to run an old workhorse. The HP Designjet 450C plotter. This thing gave new life to an old machine. While the old printer still causes headaches (it always did) I can say that none of them are because of this card. The card seems to send the expected commands flawlessly. Just make sure you have the proper drivers for your printer. You may have to tinker around and figure out which port the card aligns with (electronically speaking) but once you get that setting right, you're good to go. I expect I'll get another one for another computer and awaken another old printer (wide-carriage). Some of these old beasts were slow, but they were tough and cheap to run. There is no hand-holding when it comes to setting up something like this -but if you're setting up an older printer, you probably know something about what you're doing.

Does not work in W10 64 20H2
I got this in the hopes of using a parallel port dongle, but this card is either defective or the particular chipset/driver just isn't compatible with my hardware and build of windows 10. At best, it showed as a device in device manager but crashed any time I tried to "touch" it with software, and at worst my computer wouldn't boot with it installed.

Well worth it!
I installed this in a new Dell XPS 8930 desktop to make my old HP Deskjet 870C work. It immediately saw the printer and Windows 10 v1909 installed the drivers and the printer works like it did on my old e-Machine that had the serial port build in it. The Parallel to USB cable I had didn't work at all. This card did the trick and was well worth the money.Just an update - It works with Windows 11. Just printed to it on Windows 11.

Works as expected, but needs a bit tweaking
Installed the card on Windows 10 (1903 release) 64bit, used the drivers that came with the mini cd and it detects the card as serial ports! Downloaded the drivers from Syba's website and it installed properly as a parallel port.Purchased to use for a legacy software that uses a parallel port security dongle. Old software was running on a Windows XP box.Converted the XP box to a VMware image and used VMware player 16 on Windows 10. To forward the parallel port to the guest, I had to run VMware player as administrator. The app worked as expected, recognizing the security dongle. Even the HP Laserjet 2100 printer that connects on top of the security dongle work.

Inexpensive and functional
I have an application that requires a parallel port (believe it or not). So, this fits the bill on the PCIe bus for a low price. It works perfect, as expected. If you also have dinosaur technology, this may be for you too!

Easy install
Port installs easily, as long as you have a PCIE slot on your motherboard. Comes with a low profile mounting bracket. Works fine.
