I want to dip my cars tail lights, from your knowledge is this transparent enough to shine light through?

Yes it is but it needs to bond with some kind of pain. Maybe Spray a clear coat on the tail light then dip it.

I have a set of plastic radiator shrouds for an atv that are red. would the black carbon fiber cover the red and if so how would i prep the plastic?

Since this is a black/clear carbon, the clear spots would show the red. If you wanted to actually cover the red, I'd use a black/silver carbon fiber. That way there is zero transparency to the film. You should prep by scuffing if with a scotch brite and then wiping it with a clean tac cloth or something that will clean it without leaving residue. Did the red come factory on the ATV? If so, you will have to re-paint the part. When these parts are done in factory, they have a clear on them too. This is going to make your film slide right off of the item you are dipping & the dip will be unsuccessful. You must paint it with a hydrographic paint or a paint plus primer. It also must be a FLAT paint. Semi-gloss or gloss will just make the film slide right off too. Thank you
