GREAT gift for a "tween"
I got this for my nephew who was turning 13. He LOVES it! Even his parents are playing around with it - so much that he had to complain to them that it was HIS. Well made, and a lot of fun. His teacher even said it would help with his Attention Deficit Disorder. A great gift for those who are "tween" adolescent and teenage years of age. I wouldn't want the smaller parts around a much younger person.

My 11 year old grandson loves fidgets and this pen was perfect.

fun fidget toy
This is a decent pen, as well as a good fidget toy. I got it for my kid who really enjoys it. The magnetic parts hold together well, and you can reconfigure it in a lot of different ways. It has small parts, so it is probably not appropriate for kids under five. The "rainbow" metallic sheen version looks really good in person, I thought it would be dull but it's very distinct.
