Used for a costume and it worked well, super tight but still very flexible and comfortable.

My daughter used for under her basketball uniform in college. She loved it. Said it was soft & helped soak up her sweat while playing.

Loved it but wish I would've sized up a little, don't buy if you're gonna use it for anything else that isn't working out because it will be too tight.

I bought these as rash guards for martial arts and the gym in general, as well as protection from the sun while driving. I am so surprised at how great and comfortable they are. They look like superhero clothing too so that adds to the coolness. Both my bf (5'7", 285, 41" chest) and myself (4'11", 16 in womens/1X, 38DD) can wear a L comfortably. A medium would fit like a compression shirt, the L fits slightly loose around the midsection.

I usually wear size Large (UA/Nike) but have an admittedly difficult shape (42" chest, 31" waist). Ordered large on these but find them to be more of a square cut and the sleeves are too long. My dress shirt sleeve length is 34" and the sleeves on this large are about 1.5" too long. Medium would have suited me better. Large is only very lightly compressive on my shoulders, chest, and biceps, but the boxy cut has the rest of the shirt hanging like a sweatshirt. Part of that is me, but for athletic activity I would want it to fit more closely. I would imagine that it would work well under a dobok/ghi or other martial arts uniform, or would be okay to wear by itself at the gym (except for the sleeves). The fit I was hoping for was a bit more fitted, but not fully compressive.Material and build quality are great. I expected these to be very thin and not durable but unless they change dramatically in the wash I don't see that as an issue.

I bought this shirt as a Christmas gift for my grandson but the sleeves were way too short. I ordered a large but they were long enough.
