Ultra Vari Dog Kennel, Heavy-Duty, No Tool Assembly, 4 Sizes, Taupe/Black

This is a very high quality dog crate. It was very easy to assemble and arrived promptly. We decided to go with this style because we believe it is a safer alternative to a wire crate and can be used for both home and travel. It also has ventilation holes on both the sides and back to keep our dog more comfortable.

Purchased this for my 30 pound Border Collie. It's large enough for him to stand, turn around, and sleep in. It was one that I was sure was airline approved and it is light enough to easily handle. Has a good, sound metal door with a strong latching mechanism (unlike some of the other brands) and metal vents. The openings for hold-down straps are easy to use and the whole crate is holding up to use. The size was exactly the measurements advertised. The measurements listed are the outside, it is about 29" x 19.5" x 23" inside. The carrier fits inside the little Honda Insight. Additional Comments: Other reviews mentioned the lack of a handle. I have never seen carry handles on any carriers other than the smaller sizes, it is easier and safer to carry from the sides. Also, I wouldn't use this as a crate for daily crate training, it isn't roomy enough. This is really only designed for travel use.

ULTRA VARI KENNEL CRATE This is a good and well made crate. It was easy to assemble and is made pretty well. The high side metal vents provide light and air along with security for your baby. This is an important part of house breaking and having the proper fit for your animal usually discourages soiling inside the crate. This crate measures 36x25x27 inches and weighs in at 18.5 pounds. It is sturdy and doesn't move around while your dog is moving around inside. Our Diego weighs in at 46 pounds and is approximately 25 inches so this is the perfect fit for him. It allows him room to move, lay down, and stand up yet it isn't so big as to let him have room to do his business. We did have an open crate for him but he quickly figured out that if he lifted his leg, he could take care of business while not soiling his crate. This covered crate works much better and seems more secure for his wildness and bad attitudes! The crate is easy to clean, move and store. We are not big travelers but the crate has places for hold down straps for plane travel. I personally would secure the door better for air travel. We place blankets on the bottom to keep things cozy and comfy for our little spoiled brat. We are retired so Diego is only in the crate when we leave to go out. He walks right in and settles in nicely. We keep his crate in our attached and heated garage. The only problem is the door latch. The top latch fits great but the bottom one is a little tricky to operate. I suppose when you put a metal door in molded plastic this is to be expected. If you have an animal that you need to keep contained while you are out or working, this one works, is made well, and is sturdy. We are pleased with this product.

I purchased this kennel about a year ago for my elderly kitty. She needed a den-like area to rest in. Due to her arthritis, kitty is unable to clean herself very well. Her sleeping area needs to be cleaned frequently. This kennel is easy to clean. I use a non-toxic, pet safe cleaner to wipe it down when needed. The kennel does not come with a bed. I purchased a bed separately. The bed I bought has a waterproof, washable cover. (There are several good options on Amazon). This kennel is sturdy and well made. Easy to assemble with the hardware provided. Although I don't use the kennel door, it looks like it attaches securely if needed for travel. The best part about this purchase is that kitty loves her cozy den! I rarely see her sleeping anywhere else. We are all very pleased with this kennel!
