Review: Easy Access to Yummy Treats - Last year, I purchased a bag-style treat bag with cinch string and while that worked well, I didn't realize how much better this one until I tried it out. Since misplacing the bag, I was very content to use my jacket pockets which were large enough to easily and quickly get treats. Now that the weather is warmer though, I found I needed something better than my shirt or pants pocket. And while I thought this treat pouch was on the expensive side (at least in my mind), I'm really glad I got it. It makes dispensing treats so much easier. For the rest of the review, I'll do a series of question and answers. What was wrong with the pants or shirt pocket? Most of my pants pockets, while large on the inside, don't allow the kind of quick treat retrieval needed for extensive training. It became difficult to grab a treat especially if there was something else in the pocket. As for the shirt pocket, let's just say that any time I leaned down Nova got a "jackpot" treat. If you liked the old bag-style, why not get another one? It was fine, but the main reason I got it was because it was cheap (I think maybe $5). I couldn't find it again for the same price and this one got tons of good reviews, so I gave it a try. One thing I didn't like about the bag style is that it didn't close very fast or easily and so sometimes treats would fall out if I bent over to pick up a ball or something. Why is this product awesome? Almost everything about this product seems well thought out not just for treats, but as a small "go" bag for a quick trip with your dog. it's got plenty of space for treats (even two compartments) and a few other spots for a phone, poop bags, keys, and whatever else you might need except a water bottle (and that would just be too bulky). What would you change about this product? The only thing I sometimes struggle with is the divider for the "yummy" and "yummier" treats. It's velcro which is fine but can be a bit cumbersome if you're trying to switch between both frequently. But this feature was a bonus that I didn't realize how nice it would be anyways, so it's not a big deal. I've found it particularly useful for training outside, I can have a brightly colored treat like for tossing on the ground and regular dark colored treats for when I give them by hand. Would you buy this product again? Absolutely. The wide opening that stays open when you need treats and stays closed to prevent falling treats works perfectly. Everything else is a bonus.
Review: Comparison of this product with EZY Treat and Guardian Gear pouches - We have two large dogs and go through a lot of treats. I work from home and have one on me every waking hour. We ended up buying three different treat bags from desertcart. Here is one consumer’s assessment: EZY Treat ($26.99): main compartment with hinge, but this broke and the pouch had to be replaced (the seller was great on the return, but they did not have my color in stock, so still waiting on it). Five other pockets as well. The zippered one in front could and should be bigger (there is plenty of pouch real estate on the front). My cell phone will not even fit. I am yet to find a use for the three pockets on the belt, due to their small size. I tried twice to have these be used for poop bags, but not worth the hassle. The “hidden pocket” is way on the small side (won’t fit my cell or wallet). In summary, one big pocket which has known issues with the hinge, and five smaller ones which are way small (cell phones and key chains are not as small as they used to be, I guess). The product does have a padded belt, but it makes the pouch come across as “bulky”. (Suggest to lose the insignia on the pouch.) Guardian Gear ($16.27): main compartment with hinge has shown no issues, compared to EZY Treat. There is a small velcro pocket on the front which looks like it want to hold a cell phone, but from personal experience, it is a good way to lose one (when you bend over, things fall out as the pocket is small and the velcro doesn’t catch for anything bigger than tiny). Please see the picture on the web site. It shows a cell phone in the front pocket with the velcro not catching (nice advertisement of a design flaw). The zippered pocket on the back of the pouch wants to be used, but for what? Too small for a cell phone, wallet, or keys. There is unused pouch real estate on both the front and back, so this could be a much better product with bigger pockets on both sides. (Nice job to keep an insignia off the product.) Petsafe ($10.16): I purchased this one last, as it was the lowest price, and was not expecting much, but wanted to try it as it advertised a bigger second pocket. The second pocket in front of the hinged one is large enough (and with velcro closure) to carry my cell phone, small wallet, keys, gum, sharpie, etc. I don’t quite get the third pocket at the bottom of the hinged one, which does have a velcro closure. Is the intent of this to hold “special” treats? I essentially don’t use it. I have well over 1000 hours of wear time on the product, and the efficiency of the design and durability continue to hold up. (One wish is to have an all-black product with no insignia. My kids give me a hard time when I am always wearing this, so the more neutral the better!) In my hands, after mega hours of use (with the exception of EZY Treat as the hinge was broken), based on the design, functionality, and durability of the products, the price ordering shown above should be reversed, and I would pay the higher price to get what is actually the least expensive option. Life is good for the customer on this one!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: We treat "wet" (cheese or meat). Is the inside of this bag cleanable (plastic)?**
A: The inside is not plastic but cleans very well. Last night I spilled my apple juice on it and it ran inside and all over. I used a wet soapy wash cloth and it cleaned up the messy treats inside and dried clean. My husband and I both have one and feel it is far superior to any other out there for function and durability. Cleaning has so far not been an issue and last nights sticky mess confirmed we had the right treat bag. I hope this helps.

**Q: Can somebody let me know about how long the waist strap is? I have a bit "extra" around the midsection. Thanks!**
A: I can not tell you the length because I got rid of the strap. The pouch has a great heavy duty clip on it that I find it work great , stays fastened and secure. I love it. you can even was it.

**Q: Can you run with this and it won't let the food fall out?**
A: As long as it is snapped closed nothing will fall out.

**Q: as near as I can tell the "mini" and the non-"mini" are about the same size. What are the sizes?**
A: I have both the smaller version (5"H x 6 1/2"W) and the larger version (6 ½” W x 7 3/4"H) of the PetSafe Treat Pouch and can easily open alone with one hand without any issues. I normally open with my right hand, grab a handful of treats with left hand, and immediately close again with my right hand. Note however as someone earlier communicated, it is imperative that you push the metal clasp closed as soon as possible or your treats will be a “jackpot” for pooches if you lean over while it is still open, because they will tumble out. I'd also like to re-emphasize that this is a very functional treat pouch, in that your dog will NOT be able to help him/herself to treats (especially high value items) when it is closed, since the metal closing mechanism is so effective.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Go-To Treat Bag for 10+ Years
*by S***S on June 3, 2023*

This is my third PetSafe treat pouch. I've been using them for more than 10 years. I've tried lots of different kinds of treat bags, always coming back to this one. Here's what I like: **SPRING OPENING -- The spring hinges are easy to pop open, keep the bag open and snap shut with just a nudge. I love this metal hinge. It keeps the bag open so I can reach in and reward my do timely, without fumbling. It also closes with a light finger touch. This is really helpful when you are juggling treats, a leash and other gear while also wanting to close the bag. **Durable -- Yes, this is my third bag. After about three years of daily use, the hinge comes apart or the metal closure breaks. I'd say that's excellent durability. The rugged canvas material doesn't fray, unravel or easily stain. I've never had a failure of the plastic clip on the belt or any problems with the lined pocket interiors coming apart. The only thing I would change to make this reliable pouch even better is if it were just a bit larger. I carry extra poop bags, keys, hair clips and cell phone. Though this bag has several storage pockets, if you fill it with treats there really isn't enough room for keys or cell phone. I end up hanging stuff off the bag or stuffing in my pants pockets. Still, overall I always come back to this treat bag. Using it daily, my PetSafe treat bag gets a workout and performs very well. I highly recommend this bag.
