When gentle pressure with a thumb or finger is applied to the top button, prongs on the holder secure any size fruit or vegetable, or piece of hard cheese or meat, and allow the entire length of the food item to be sliced. The food holder works well with other Borner products, such as the V-slicer and onion cutter, and also with any cheese grater or mandolin. The holder measures 6 by 5 by 2 inches, and is dishwasher-safe. --Ann Bieri ## Features - Finger protector for cutting food: This plastic food holder keeps your fingers safe while using graters, peelers, and slicers for vegetables, fruits, and cheese. It saved my fingers. **Q: Will this work with both Mandolins thats 5.7 wide and thats 5 wide?** A: Since it's basically a holder for the item you're slicing, I think it would work with most mandolins. The safety holder is 6" wide, so according to your width measurement it would fit your mandolin. **Q: how is this holder different than another holder, same company, that is sold in orange and white and is sold by Amazon for $9.99?** A: The color. This one is white. The other one is orange. They serve the same purpose. **Q: How well does it handle carrots?** A: I use the peeled baby carrots and can slice them fine. I haven't tried shredding them ## Frequently Bought Together - Borner Safety Food Holder - Finger Anti-Cut Protectors for Vegetable or Fruit Grater, Food Slicer Cutter, Cheese Grater, Kitchen Fruit & Vegetable Holder for Slicing, - One Size, White - Benriner Super Slicer, with 4 Japanese Stainless Steel Blades, Beige - NoCry Premium Cut Resistant Gloves Food Grade — Level 5 Protection; Ambidextrous; Machine Washable; Superior Comfort and Dexterity; Lightweight; Complimentary eBook --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/4336770-borner-safety-food-holder-finger-anti-cut-protectors-for-vegetable](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/4336770-borner-safety-food-holder-finger-anti-cut-protectors-for-vegetable) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
