Department 56 Accessories for Villages Swinging Ghoulies Accessory Figurine 10 Inch

I’ve been collecting the Dept 56 Christmas villages for a long time, especially the alpine village. I decided to start a small collection of the Halloween town as I love my Christmas village so much. I thought this was a great piece to start with.I like it, but can’t say I love it, and I’m not sure it’s worth the cost. It’s cute but quite noisy. I actually had a heck of a time screwing the swing to the base, no matter what I tried. I was about to hit the Return button when I thought, I’d at least like to see it running once. I plugged it in and low and behold was able to screw it down a little bit while it was running (but still not all the way). Ultimately I’ve decided to keep it because my kids will love it, but I was expecting better quality.

This is a really cute piece for our Halloween village , two things I wish Dept 56 could change: make it quiet as it turns and include an on/off switch .

I had this piece before however it got broke one year, fortunately I found another. This piece is great for the studio 56 carnival.

The media could not be loaded.  The top spinner screws onto the base. It took me a bit to figure out why it wasn’t spinning. I was to careful and didn’t tighten it enough. The top spinner came off the screw that attaches to the base. It’s okay though it spins just fine and no need to screw the base every year just set the top on and go. The pumpkins do light up at the base. I gave four stars because of the top spinner was not attached well enough to the top screw.

I have been collecting Dept. 56 items for years. The now-retired Spinning Pumpkins ride is my absolute favorite. I wanted another Halloween-themed ride, and decided to purchase this one based on good reviews. Well when it arrived, one of the branches was loose in its joint. I was able to repair it but it wasn't easy. It arrives in 2 pieces and you have to screw the top (tree canopy) to the base. Looked easy, but took me awhile to figure out that the right-tighty rule didn't apply in this situation; it went on counter-clockwise. However, what disappointed me the most were the jack-o-lanterns at the base of the tree. In the video of this ride on Youtube they appear to light up and looked really neat, and were the reason I decided to purchase this item in the first place, but when it arrived I realized the jack-o-lanterns were made of solid resin and do not light up at all, there was just a lighting effect in the video to make them look like they did. A little misleading, if you ask me. However, the swings themselves work fine and the motor is quiet.Edit: the jack-o-lanterns are painted with neon paint, so if you place them in a very dark room, they will glow.

This is a very nice piece with lots of details. It lights up and turns quite nicely. I have had no issues whatsoever with mine. I have a halloween carnival village and it makes a nice addition to my display. It is right on par with all my other Department 56 pieces...same great quality and attention to detail. I got this piece while it was on sale, but would have paid more for it after now seeing how smoothly it runs. Was a bit nervous on purchasing it because of several buyers having issues with the mechanics of it revolving, but I have had no issues myself. Paid under $20 for it brand new and I would've paid twice that. Love it!

Came expertly wrapped with no chips or defects in the molding. The motorized swings are very quiet and smooth.
