This is a review of my journey seeking a decent 60 key keyboard and not having to mortgage the house doing it. The question I posed in the title whether this spells goodbye to one of the most popular keyboards around is rhetorical, not saying that it means that, but maybe this is a decent alternative for those who just don’t have the budget to spend it all on a keyboard. My grandpa had a typewriter repair business after he retired and I learned to type before I could write. I was an early believer in home computers and owned one of the first (Andy Kay was my neighbor). So I’m saying that I have had my fingers on a lot of keyboards, and I’ll say right now that most current ones are garbage. Most of them try to force the user into changing what’s natural for what’s trendy. And the current retro trend happens to be mechanical keyboards, some of which cost stratospheric prices but are stamped out by the millions. The manufacturers take delight in all of the various colors and variations within the colors for their switches and even more variations for their keycaps. The trend now is dropping the numeric keypad (but not the price) by going to 75 keys and now to 60 keys (this one has 61) but again the prices stay in the stratosphere. So along comes this unknown brand that I was able to get on prime day for twenty bucks, that’s a full hundred bucks less than the one that it openly copies in almost every way, I could buy six of these for the price of one of theirs. So we all await with baited breath to know the secret, is it ok, junk or did I just save a hundred and get virtually the same thing? This is my first 60 key keyboard. I’m a writer who doesn’t want or need dedicated numeric keys and there are some keys that I have never once used. Go ahead, admit it, the same is true with you, when was the last time you used the SysRq key, and what the heck is it actually? As one who writes, not games, not internet surfs (well ok I do that) I want to know that when I press a key down that a letter appears on my screen. I want a keyboard that I can put my touch typist fingers on and all of the keys are where they are supposed to be. I want a keyboard that I am not constantly pressing some key that makes me go back and fix things I didn’t want to do, which happened every day on the keyboard I just disconnected. But I don’t want to spend $120.00 to do it if I don’t have to (but I will if I do have to). So I looked at dozens of brands and none of them got it right except the Air 60 which put the right keys in the right place and made them the right size and shape. The only thing is they are one of the most frustrating places on earth to buy from, everything they do seems to be an inside joke that only they get but they just can’t sit still and tell us in plain simple language what all of their dozens of configurations and options mean. But in my life, if something is worth a too high price I’ll buy it. So I tried it and I compared it to this one. There are a few minor differences and I know that purists are going nuts that I can’t appreciate a thonk from a clack. Actually I can and really, it is too close to call between the two. WHAT I DON’T LIKE So hey, I am not a copywriter for this brand and they didn’t give me anything, they don’t even know who I am. I paid full price, okay a little less because of prime day, but my own money. So what I’m saying is what I believe. But it’s not all sunshine and lollipops. I was impressed by all of what’s in the box, I was impressed by first impressions (does that make sense?) But there are some very small things, like for example, although this keyboard is surprisingly heavy and solid for its size it doesn’t have feet at the back to tilt it. As you get it there is some degree of tilt and it’s not that I don’t like it but I would like to be able to go at just a little more of an angle. Second, although I type by touch I like to still see the lettering on the keys. These are bold and beautiful and would be perfect except when I turn the backlight on and the blue light makes the character on the keys almost disappear. I also wish that they didn’t print the helpers for the brightness levels on the key caps with symbols of the sun. I have to read the other multi-use keys, why not make these just lettering or maybe arrow symbols. I do love however that even with the lighting turned totally down to zero the Caps Lock key lights up when activated, that’s good design. YES NO MAYBE This is one amazingly good keyboard for the price. No it may not be as customizable, the bottom doesn’t come off to put foam rubber inside and I can hear a difference between the near perfect sound of the red switches on every key except the spacebar, and I’m very sensitive to loud loose spacebars. This one isn’t loose, it just has a different tone to it that messes up my creative thinking. I can’t imagine thinking buying this was a mistake unless your expectations are as big as your wallet. I think it’s a great value and it also happens to be an almost great keyboard.

I love this keyboard. Before purchasing this product I used a Corsair keyboard that I got from a bundle that double typed. Although it was hotswappable the Corsair keyboard didn't have many switches built for it. This keyboard uses gateron switches which are amazing as they are more widely used and you can find them for pretty cheap and a nice price. The size was a great positive for me. My desk is small and I do casual gaming and sometimes competitive. I needed more space for my mouse to move around and my full sized keyboard wasn't doing me justice for that. This is a 60 percent keyboard and it does everything that I need to do. Another upside for purchasing this product was there is no double typing. The most frustrating thing with my Corsair keyboard was the insane amount of double typing and it was outrageously bad. Pretty much as you can see, this is a great keyboard. I definitely recommend this keyboard as it is the most affordable version of a 60 percent keyboard.

Beautiful keycaps, a little wobble but not bad. Super nice to type on compared to your normal office keyboard. Backlight is really nice, and the sound you make typing is super satisfying. Red switches were pretty good quality, but I ended up not really liking full sized mechanical anyway. Incredible value having hot-swap switches! Super awesome for a casual user / gamer / Keyboard fan who wants to get into modding. Actual problems I have with it: - No dedicated arrow keys, really kills programmers / superusers. Pressing Fn for them is really weird to me. - Not quiet. Can easily mod in some foam, but if you bought it for it's silent red switches then you'll be disappointed since keys constantly slamming to the bottom are going to still make noise. - Super thick, not portable at all.

Works well for my uses. I use it with my linux PC and it works very well. Super comfortable to type on, doesn't take up much space. Cheap enough to throw around and bring with you if you need to. I enjoy the red switches it has but it's nice that they're hot swappable so you can add different switches if you want to. I feel like this is an easy and cheap way to get into modding keyboards. I also love the layout. It's well thought out being on a small board. Definitely would buy one of these again if I needed to. Side note, this would be a great keyboard for a tablet with a usb dongle!

I was super excited to make my own keyboard since I've been watching videos on it for a year or so. At first I bought a keyboard that wasn't hot-swappable. No biggie, return it and buy one that is hot-swappable. I put take out all the keycaps and all the red switches. When I was pulling them out the first red flag I should've seen was that they didn't come out easy at all. They either came out with a little tugging or they broke off completely. I didn't notice it at first, I was just too excited to put my own switches and key caps on. Second red flag I should've seen, or what I should've done research on myself was that my own switches hardly fit in this keyboard. I would press it down and it just didn't fit how I wanted it to. When i finished putting it all together, first thing I noticed when I started using it was that the X key didn't work unless I pressed it down extremely hard. X wasn't used that much so I wasn't that concerned. Then the E key started to go out. I use E a lot, so it started to worry me. I took the keycap off, took the switch off and put the normal switch back on. Still didn't work. I started to panic and realized that I might've had a faulty keyboard and could return it for something else. I took all the keycaps off. Some of the switches came off right with the keycaps and some of them had to use a little force. Like with the original ones, they started breaking one by one. I am completely heart broken over this. Not only did I waste money buying this keyboard, I wasted money thinking I could put my own switches in here. Now, before things went bad, it worked pretty well. Some keys would fall out randomly, but then they would easily go back in. I got a lot of complements on the switches and keycaps I put in there myself. I just wish that my switches didn't get stuck in there and maybe I wouldn't been able to solve this issue.

Like the mechanical touch and feel. Only issue is with a small keyboard, som normal keys are not accessed by function key combinations. Purchased an external wireless numeric keypad and do all numeric spreadsheet entry with this. Keeps me off the top row on the keyboard. Simple solution. Supplied manual is NO help. Needs to be BIGGER to even read it. One neat thing I discovered is that the CAPS LOCK key is illuminated when ON. One less mistake for me to make. This keyboard will not work through a hub if you have more than one PC, Lights light, but info will not make it to the PC. Tried with multiple hubs.

This mechanical keyboard is super cool and has the clicking sound that my gamers are looking for. Not hard to press the keys down to make a sound. Perfect size! I Would recommend purchasing an a great Christmas gift for your gamer!

I opened the box to find a 60 percent keyboard. I was kinda shocked at the fact there was nothing else (not even a c cable) but I then realized that the protector cardboard that held the keyboard in place could be removed. Inside I found A BUNCH OF SWAPPABLE keycaps. A keycap remover. A usbc cord. I was really happy and was even happier when I plugged the keyboard in and it was amazing. It was a really needed alternative to my original keyboard that came with my victus pc.

Me gustó el teclado, sólo hay que conectarlo, sin embargo no pude ponerlo para que todas las teclas correspondan, en su mayoría sirve bien, pero los acentos y ciertos signos son un poco de adivinar en dónde quedaron, porque no corresponde a las teclas, pero están todas, incluso la letra "ñ" sólo hay que acostumbrarse y con el tiempo por costumbre se presionaran correctamente.
