What will happen if used on a 1-ton system?

You will probably be putting too much in. They make a smaller dosage unit, but it doesn't have the dye in it. You can get a dye injector and inject the dye separately. You can use the smaller unit on automotive applications. The company is in St. Louis, MO and I had called their tool free number. Very Helpful.
