Awesome Read!!
This book is an awesome book if you are someone looking to build an LS style engine and have a horse power number in mind as this book gives you a list of components they use for each build. These engines are dyno tuned so you know what you get without wasting money on components that may not work as expected. It is a must have for any motor head wanting to build an LS based motor.

All about the LS3
I'm giving this book 4 stars because the title is a bit misleading. I have an 06 GTO with an LS2. An 06 LS2 is a Gen IV engine. However, this book is all about the LS3 (also a Gen IV). You wouldn't know that by looking at the cover or description. I realize Amazon has the feature where you can look inside the book, which I did, but it wasn't clear there wouldn't be a mention of the LS2. It's a good book and the info they provide does transfer to my engine. I just wish the author was a little more up front about the engine he wrote about.

Don't waste your money!
First let me say that I have very little experience with the LS family of engines. However, I have 45+ years of experience in building both stock and high performance engines! Therefore, nased on the title, I was hoping that this book would provide me with useful information about what parts where needed to build competitive LS based engines. Sadly, there is little usable information to be had in this book and what usable information is available will have to be searched for. This book is a compilation of comparative dyno runs on entirely different builds. Almost all of which are comparisons of "apple to oranges", such as comparing the output of an engine with stock LS3 heads to aftermarket LS1 heads. A more useful comparison would have been stock LS3 heads to stock LS1 heads or stock to aftermarket heads of the same type or one manufacturer's aftermarket head to another manufacturer. Better yet, dyno runs on a set of heads that were gradually modified from one run to another.Unfortunately, I will be returning this book. However, if you are looking for useful information on Gen IV LS engines, I can recommend, "LS Gen IV Engines, 2005 - Present" by Mike Mavrigan!

Bravo !

Couldn't be better
Very in depth and detailed book. A must for any LS3 owner. So much better then searching google or forums for unbiased opinions.

Waste of money
This book is merely a collection of Holdner's test which can all be googled, no instruction of how to build
