Overall, this set is exactly what I needed as a beginner to the amateur cocktail making scene. The shaker pieces are well made and the large weighted shaker makes it feel substantial and satisfying while shaking. They also seal perfectly, while not being a pain to take apart once done shaking. The strainer is just a standard strainer, but good finish and fit with the larger shaker.The two minimal downsides:1) I would have preferred a jigger with 1oz and 2oz sides, rather than 0.5oz and 1oz, as many of the drinks I make require 1.5 or 2 ounce pours. However, this is of course perfectly fine if you accept needing two separate pours to create the larger measurements. See? Minimal.2) The only item I think the budding bartender needs outside of this set is a nice, long bar spoon. Regular spoons serve the purpose alright, but the combination of a long reach to get into highball glasses, an accurate teaspoon measure, and a good shape for twirling against the outside of the glass makes an actual bar spoon particularly useful. However, as this is one of the cheaper shaker sets on Amazon, I can't in good conscience blame Bar Brat for not including it in the set.

This is a reasonably good basic shaker set made of stainless steel.ProThe shaker fits nicely together. You may have to tap it to separate if it gets very chilled (expansion;contraction of metals...)Comes with jigger and strainer, both essential tools for measuring then pouring out.Not-so-ProYou should also have a glass handy for shaking instead of steel--make sure yours fit.E-book is supplied: no pamphlet as shown. An e-book isn't the best thing in the wet--a paperback fits in the cupboard and can be quickly paged through if your phone is not handy. I don't like my phone around wet stuff.I prefer a larger jigger with more than one measurement (personal preference) this one is good for fast measures, though.Doesn't come with a spoon, which you use instead of shaking, sometimes. I don't happen to like those spiral handle long spoons (don't know why) so I use an iced tea spoon. So I got this set specifically to avoid the creepy spiral spoon but you may want one.Summary: very functional for the price, works fine.

I am a novice when it comes to cocktails, but I purchased this set after reading a lot of reviews on other products. The main thing I like about this type of shaker is that it's easy to clean! I hand wash it and it gets cleaned in a jiffy. I can't imagine cleaning one of the traditional shakers, with all of it's little parts. You can take the coil off of the strainer, which makes that easy to clean as well. I also read a lot of comments that the other traditional shakers didn't seal properly, or the seal broke after a few uses. No worries about that here. Just smush the cups together and shake away. It made amazing classic margaritas and I'm excited to look through the recipe book I was emailed for other ideas. There has been no signs of rust yet, but again, I hand wash it, so that might make a difference. So far, so good and worth the price!

This unit works great for making one drink. It seals well and has a good finish. I love it. The seller advertises that it comes with an e-book for how to mix drinks. The "e-book" is a .pdf file sent by e-mail when you order. The book is organized in groups of "Vodka Recipes", "Gin Recipes", etc. and not alphabetically by the name of the drink. Also, there is no index so finding a particular drink is very difficult. Even more frustrating, a recipe will start on one page and continue on the next forcing the reader to go back an forth between pages to navigate the columns which are: "Name" [of the drink], "Ingredients", "Preparation', "Garnish", and "Glass". Bottom line, the e-book seems to have good information but amateurish structure which, for me, cost this product one star. The "book" could be very easily fixed.

The media could not be loaded.  We had a wonderful time with this shaker set! It was a blast shaking and mixing! The shaker set was constructed well and has lots of pluses.First, we noticed that since it is a two piece shaker, your hands don't freeze because your hands are not on the part that has the ice or liquid. That was nice.Second, the pieces fit together perfectly. No splashes or leaks. All the liquid stayed inside the shakers.Next, all the pieces felt like they were built to last forever. The strainer didn't feel flimsy and the jigger was not bent. No scratches, ding, or dents from shipment. They wrapped each item with bubble wrap and placed that box in an Amazon box with plenty of padding.We thoroughly enjoyed this item and are proud to show it off to friends.

I use this at home to mix drinks for myself as long as friends. The Boston Shaker, itself, is a bit larger than I had imagined. I count this as a positive. "The more, the merrier", as they say. I've had no problems with it leaking. The double-sided jigger really helps with measurements. This is a better than my old method of just "eyeing it."The downside: It accumulates a lot of smudges from fingerprints due to the product being made of stainless steel. However, this is not a trait that it shares alone. Many other shakers have this problem as well. Other than that, it does clean easily and the stainless steel finish keeps it from rusting.Overall: This is a excellent set. It does it job.
