Great Book of Wonderful Needlepoint Designs
This is a beautiful book of needlepoint designs and motifs that I will use over and over again. I bought this book to get the fox and hare charts, but have found so much more that I want to do. The photographs are gorgeous and will motivate almost any needlepoint enthusiast to try some new things. My one negative comment is that the charts are small and counting the stitches can be difficult, especially with the larger pieces. I suggest making enlarged color photocopies, then taking the time to go over the copies with colored pencils to define the colors better. In the colored photocopies I made, the yellow and one of the greens washed out.

Gorgeous Patterns in Full Color
This is one of my favorite needlepoint books. Beth Russell shows examples of some portions in both needlepoint and cross-stitch and encourages readers to use different aspects of each design for spot motifs. With photos of historical needlework that she used as inspiration for each design, it is a well-planned book for all skill levels. The photos are wonderful, the full color charts are perfect, and it's a really great read as well. I recommend it.

Lovely Book with Lovely Patterns
This book has several patterns that I plan on attempting in the next few projects. However, when I was considering the purchase of the book, I was unable to find a complete listing of the designs included in the book (always helpful when purchasing something like this). You can find part of the list, along with correspondeing pictures of the designs at the Beth Russell Needlepoint website under "Needlepoint Books." However, in an attempt to help other Amazon-ers, here is a list of the designs:*Compton*Hare*Fox*Woodpecker*Honeysuckle (bell pull)*Flowerpot*Jackfield Rose*African Marigold*Jasmine (with an alphabet to customize)*Pomegranate (rug)*Morris*Kazak (rug as well as bag w/ strap)*Anemones*Owls*Rabbits*Frog &Stork*Annie Jack*Bird & LeafThe designs really are beautiful and traditional, and I think it is going to make a wonderful addition to my needlepoint books.

Nice, so get the wool and get busy!
I checked this book out from the library and found so many patters that I wanted to use for projects that I went ahead and bought it. It was way cheaper than the overdue fines I would have racked up. That's because the patterns don't use symbols but rather colors. so if i'd tried to copy or scan the pages I needed, it would have really been a pain to try to chart the designs. Actually working them u p may be a challenge too, this is not beginner needle pointing, event though there are stitch illustrations and how to's. I'm planning on working several designs in rugs.
