My filter continued to pop out of the back of Kenmore EF-1 vacuum. Didn't have a clue. Removed the old filer and replaced with the new one. Back in business!

I routinely purchase these EnviroCare #976 Pleated Exhaust HEPA Filters for my mother to use with her Kenmore Progressive 116 Canister Vacuum Cleaner. The overall value of these filters can't be beat, when compared to the cost of genuine Kenmore Hepa filters. They look identical to the genuine Kenmore filters and seem to work just as well. The filters seem to fit my mother's vacuum just fine but I do wonder of they are actually sealing as tightly as the genuine Kenmore ones did. I say this because, despite my mother keeping her home meticulously clean by dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. on a weekly basis plus keeping her windows always closed for the purpose of limiting any entry of outside dirt and pollutants, she still manages to find an unusal amount of blackish-type dirt when using a Swiffer to wipe her kitchen floor which is adjacent to her carpeted dining room. This issue has continued to perplex us both because we have no idea where such dirt could be coming from. Then it dawned on me one day that the dirt might perhaps be some very fine particulates present in the vacuum's exhaust which are escaping from the vacuum because of the lack of a tight seal on this filter. I'm not saying that this is definitely the case with these filters but I'm just wondering if it could be. Other than this possible issue, my mother and I are very pleased with these filters and will continue to purchase them.
