Look at the first two pictures, that is a fine black dust that comes out of the device, the third picture was from wiping a piece of toilet paper against it, and the fourth picture was after washing it with dishwashing detergent and rinsing it once. I had read a review after I ordered this that showed this same thing using a cotton ball, but I didn't have one, so I used a porous undergarment. I put it across the opening of the device where the air blows out and I left it there for around ten minutes with air blowing through it. To my horror that black circle was there when I opened it after that time. The second picture is closer up, enlarge them if you can. The third pictures was just a small smudge that appeared on the toilet paper, so I thought it might just have been that the cloth was burned and that smudge was a bit of ash, but then I decided to wash the fabric with a bit of dishwashing liquid with my thumb and forefinger and then rinse it. I did it once, not all that vigorously. I'm guessing more would wash out if I launder it. But here's the thing: we're dealing with something that goes directly into the lungs! If after just a few minutes this thing put that much black dust from inside the motor into that cloth, imagine how much it would be pushing into the tube on a constant basis and from there right into you! And what the h is that black dust? It can't be anything good. It's coming from a very loud fan - by the way, this thing is VERY LOUD and producing a very violent action inside. So it's very possible this fine black dust would come out of this thing for a very long time, maybe always. It's possible that as the motor runs at that high, violent speed, that things are rubbing and breaking down that won't ever stop. Or maybe it's just coated with some black dust from the production facility; maybe it's in an industrial area in a city in a place where pollution standards are, as far as I understand, barely existent. I was told that each time a visitor blows her nose, even several times a day, that this is what ends up on the Kleenex, so maybe this is just the air where this was produced that filled the inside with this extremely fine black dust. Might it go away if I ran it for hours or days? WHY WOULDN'T THEY HAVE DONE THAT IF IT'S THAT SIMPLE? Because either it isn't it they don't care. Either way this product is not for a use this critical. This is HORRIFYING! Consider what this device is being used for. Consider the possibility of this black dust streaming out of this thing for months and years and where it's going to end up? It's going to coat the inside of the tube, and then you know what comes next! DO NOT BUY THIS THING. DO NOT LET IT NEAR YOUR EQUIPMENT. DO NOT USE IT. Amazon should not be allowing this very dangerous product to be sold. And it's not MAYBE dangerous. It's 100% harmful right out of the box, because an extremely fine black dust like that cannot possibly not be harmful for this particular application. DO. NOT. BUY. THIS!!! DO. NOT. BUY. THIS!!!!! The other reviewers aren't kidding when they say this thing is LOUD! It sounds a bit like a shop-vac. That said, it is extremely effective. NOTHING would dry my husband's cpap hose, but this thing blasted the water out in just a few minutes. No regrets.

I wanted to dry my cpap tube - as it stays wet all day. I thought this device would blue air through quickly and dry it. Nope. Slow and low air flow. Super loud fan. Naaah. Used it once. In the closet now.
