65406 Octagon Body Claw Handle for 16 oz. Hammers, 14" Length, Wax Finish, Grade A , White

The shape and lines are very similar to the old vintage style of handles. I have purchased a lot of new and old handles. This has to be one of the best. I restore old hammers as a hobby. My wife thinks it's ridiculous to own so many hammers. However, how could I trust the judgement of a woman who was willing to marry a guy who restores old hammers for a hobby.If I had one critique it would be the wedge split goes a little too far down. I would prefer no split at all. If u shape it properly and use two steel wedges at 45 degree angles, the installation looks much closer to factory.

the handle had a 1/4 " protrusion at the base and 1/4" bow over the full length. the groove for the spreader was off center by 1/8". the wood was good quality the description should state artistic abilities required to prepare before assembly.

Good quality wood handle. Did a little sanding to put good smooth finish and stained and sealed handle. Bought this to replace handle on my Grandfather's hammer who was a self-employed house builder and will be passed on down to my nephew.

A solid chuck of wood to replace a broken 16 oz claw hammer handle. Fit well, no bad blemeshes or splits, needs sanding before finishing with oil, that is all!

This was advertised as a wax finish but it was an unsanded finish. I had to sand it and stain it to get a proper finish. A lot of extra work but it did work with my old hammer head.

Ordered two of them. Both where different sizes and twisted. after putting the head on it pointed in a differnt direction. Don't waste your time or money.

Nice wood handle for the price. Will need to sanded and refinish.
