These knives are beautiful, and you can immediately feel the craftsmanship when holding them. This is an affordable forged knife set, and while the Damascus pattern is mainly aesthetic (unlike higher-end brands like Zwilling/Miyabi), those are in a completely different price range than these knives. These knives are well suited for home cooks rather than professional chefs, but being forged, they will handle regular honing and sharpening better than Henckels’ basic stamped knife sets. With proper care, they should last a long time. The easel is solid and heavy and takes up less space than a traditional knife block. These knives are very sharp straight out of the box. I also bought the utility knife so these 4 knives are really all you need for at home cooking prep. And at this price point this Compass Damascus set is a steal!!

Good knife. Very sharp indeed. Already sliced my thumb while using it. But it does work very well and has a good weight to it.

Very disappointed purchase. This knife is as good as a dollar store knife. Not very sharp. Not suitable to cut bread on less you want to squish it.

A very well built knife. Love the serated knife edge. Blade is thicker than our previous serated knife so have to get used to it
