Great for experienced C# developers new to Xamarin
For someone diving into Xamarin development for the very first time and looking for a good introduction, this book is fantastic. It provides a good overview of the Xamarin toolset and how to integrate many common features into a handy Point-of-Interest app which you build along the way. That said, I spotted at least a handful of coding errors which could cause newbie C# developers some issues if they are not used to debugging, particularly in a potentially unfamiliar IDE with their application running on a piece of external hardware. None of the errors in code were road-blockers, but it should be known. It should also be known that I only read the Kindle version. These mistakes might *not* be in the print version.Again, overall, I am very satisfied with the content of this book, but I would only recommend it to comfortable C# developers who have never worked in Xamarin before.

Warning: No Chapter Links, and make just wet your appetite.
Other kindle tech books contain helpful links to the beginning of each chapter. For the PC viewer, these links are available in the contents tab of the black toolbar, usually on the left hand side of the page. These links make navigating through the book easier than always going back to the Table of Contents at the beginning of the book. This book also seems rather short. I have owned this book for only 24 hours, and I am already 43% through it. I am not a speed reader, and I have been doing plenty of other things as well. The first third of the book is devoted to "Getting Started". The writing style is easy to read, and looks reasonable, but so far I haven't seen much depth, and make leave you wanting for more.

Great book!
My company had me look into Xamarin to do a quick evaluation. I primarily do Windows development and didn't want to lug around a second laptop, a macbook, in order to set up a iOS build box so I figured Android would be the way to go. I don't have any native Android development experience and know little about the platform so this book really helped me out.The author walks you through the initial setup and quickly introduces you to the essentials necessary to walk through the demo app (Android manifest, layouts, Actions, Intents, etc.)I picked up the Kindle version and the code formatting is great!

Great Xamarin Book
This has been a really good book. I've made my first App in just under 30 days thanks to this book. I've made several apps in Objective C for iOS over the past couple of years and wanted to get into Android but didn't want to use Eclipse or Java. This has been awesome.

Not What I Have Expected
I expected a little more out of this book. It took me less than 20 minutes to glance through this book and most of the information can be found via Google. I was hoping for a technical in depth of Xamarin Studio & Mobile Development.

Learn Xamarin Android development without the drama
A quick paced, yet complete tutorial for learning to build Android applications using Xamarin and C#. The author uses a straight forward, conversational style, like someone sitting down with a peer and explaining a new concept yet not in any way condescending nor too chatty. He makes the subject seem natural and accessible. This is a great way to learn Android development!

Good but lite coverage.
Good but like most Xamarin books, not deep enough and nothing on Sqlite.

Net, in XML.

Muy práctico
Buen libro para aprender a desarrollar aplicaciones para Android con Xamarin. El autor muestra las técnicas mas habituales de programación de apps mediante un ejemplo que va desarrollando a lo largo del libro. Es muy fácil de leer.
