The package said this product "naturally absorbs odors," but I don't think so. I think it just covers them. It was so very strong in its stinkyness that I did not even try to return, just threw it in the trash. The OUTSIDE trash. Also, when I pulled the plastic film off the top, it got all over on my hands and was sticky. It's kind of an inadequate top because you can't close it up again to get rid of the smell. I could smell it a little bit before I even opened the Amazon box. I was hoping for a more natural Citrus scent like from the wonderful Air Scense products (also sold here at Amazon), but passive and with absorptive properties instead of having to actively spray, which you must do with Air Scense. But no such luck.
