Took it to the Philippines and used it on the 28 hour flights via Jet Blue, Asiana Airlines, and Cebu Pacific. No issues in check points, no issues on the plane, no issues at work, and still quiet as can be. Some things you should KNOW: 1) The feet may slide off. WATCH them carefully (the rubber things not the plastic components) 2) Ya ya ya ya dual usb ports.... lol but ONE MUST be used for the FANS. So you have ONE spare USB port. Still I didn't need it, but it makes it sound like you can use 2 without needing the obvious power from your laptop via usb port or some external power component. 3) Do NOT lose the male to male usb cord. They aren't readily available everywhere lol. Best buy a spare one just in case. 4) It definitely cools down the computer. I ran multiple 3rd party programs and temp test in bios and it definitely works. 5) It says it doesn't power external HDDs... LOL YES IT DOES. Well at least this one it did: Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0, Black (STDR4000100). Now granted.... It's a laptop hdd and not a desktop hdd... However it IS an external hdd none the less. 6) I put this thing to the test. I am a gamer, I also am a ripper, and I do coding as well. I ran both Elder Scrolls online and WoW (World of Warcraft) at the same time as GoT 2160p S03E04 episode with an external mouse and hdd while the fans were turning on, my lap didn't get hot like it would but did get kinda luke warm, but thats to be expected when the video card is activated due to gaming and show. Now imagine running ESO for 6 hours, and WoW for 9 hours while watching 12 hours of tv episodes on the airplane while flying over the ocean, and Russia and Korea airspace. Lets just say my passenger seat person was greatly entertained the entire flight. My lap and my boys were truly happy for lack of heat. Thank You Havit 5 Fan Cooling Pad. I will buy another thank you! ** if you are over paranoid with the heat as a gamer, this does work with 2600-5000RPM as well. EDIT 1: As of August 9, 2018 - This item still works. There are some instances when I initially turn it on the fans can get loud but then stop almost 5 seconds later. No complaints here. I use this almost daily 3-5 days a week while at work. Review: Finally, a cooling pad that can cool my old behemouth laptop! - I've got a 17" Alienware M17x that is about 5 years old and it runs so hot that within minutes you can't keep it on your lap, and it regularly shuts down due to overheating. I've purchased at least 5 cooling pads such as the Thermaltake units, and other well reviewed items. None of them really kept my laptop cool; at best they kept it less hot. And each of them had their problems. Most, such as the Thermaltake unit, had plastic legs that cracked and broke relatively soon. I decided to try the Havit 5 fan unit here, and I am extremely surprised and pleased. I'm writing on this laptop right now, sitting on my sofa, and this huge old laptop has been on all day. The laptop is actually cool to touch! I really like the wheel on the side that lets you set the fan speed, but even at the highest speeds it is very quiet (many cooling pads have fans that give off an irritating whine.) The small legs on the pad do a nice job of lifting the pad off of whatever surface you've got it on (and they can be retracted) and they seemed designed well and not prone to breaking. The bright red LEDs ALMOST kept me from buying this, since I often have the laptop on my bedside table at night, in a dark room. But my laptop completely covers the lights, so no problem there. The ONLY nit I have to pick is that a couple of the little rubber pads that are stuck on the bottom of the pad have fallen off and I've lost them, But that is minor compared to the fact that this cooling pad actually cools my previously non-coolable laptop!

Finally, a cooling pad that can cool my old behemouth laptop!

Affordable, lightweight cooling pad
I was pleasantly surprised how lightweight this cooling pad is. It's super easy to use and fits my 13" Macbook pro well. It doesn't slide as much as other stands I have used, and I find the 5 fans keep all parts of my laptop cool. The height of the stage is also perfect in my opinion. I don't game much, but this cooling pad keeps my laptop under control during many long video calls. My only major complaint is the grips on the bottom: they not only create skid marks all over my table, but many of them slide off: I've already lost one and I've had the cooling pad less than a month. The pad still stays in place just fine, but for how much it costs, it's not a big deal. Extra grip stickers would be nice for this reason.

Great add-on for older hot running laptops, but I'd buy a non-LED heavy-duty one for new laptops.
Matches my HP Omen. Looks good as a stationary unit (my laptop is retired to desktop mode only). The incline is good for extra air space to enter, however, try putting back your laptop display all the way - Most don't recline much so angled cooling pads don't matter much in that case (and could make your posture worse). I am tall so the lack of recline was always annoying. Was happy with the compromise of one USB cord needed vs. extra buttons. Completely looks normal with my red LED HP Omen 15" Laptop. Not much sound (hey guys, all fans make noise). It is quieter than my laptop fans set to maximum. I can feel the cool temp zone around my laptop vents so I know its working. Will probably add some life to my old laptop (the first ever Omen prototype released in U.S.A.). LED's quickly become unnecessary as the laptop blocks them for the most part with little ground reflection. Good purchase to add life without wanting to invest too much in your older tech. I do not expect this thing to have a long life-span with all the moving parts and plastic design.

Long but worth reading.
I want to preface by saying this is NOT a alternative if you need a new internal fan or if you have extreme over-heating issues. What this is great for is if you have a laptop (like mine (lots of Acer users here lol)) that is prone to over heating due to poor ventilation. I almost always use my laptop on my lap or bed or couch which perpetuates the poor ventilation issues that are so common with Acer laptops. I highly recommend having a pad for several reasons 1 it helps prevent cancers that can form from having your laptop directly on your skin 2 it provides a solid surface to help let air flow through. The added bonus of the fans helps suck the air your PC is already emitting to further the cooling process. The downsides, no matter what brand you buy from these, pads are generally very cheap and won’t last but a year, which for 26 bucks it’s bad at all. I would recommend HAVIT over other brands because their customer service is definitely superior. Between the fact that this is a prime item, you can get a full refund if it comes damage, andthere is an 18 month warranty, backed with excellent customer service and lifetime tech support, this is definitely the way to go in terms of cooling pads. Hope this helps. :)

This guy keeps my laptop at a constant 145-160 degrees during gaming which is great but... (Revised)
My laptop would continually overheat to the point that it would shut it self off during long gaming times. This guy keeps my laptop at a constant 145-160 degrees during gaming which is fantastic!! I've not had my laptop overheat and shut off since I started using this. Great buy and a good investment. 2019-08-08 - Revised and updated from 5 stars to 3 stars. Since leaving my original review I've purchased 2 more of these units. All three of the HAVIT 5 fan pads still work however, every single one has had at least one fan start to go bad after about 4-6 months of continuous use. It sounds as though the bearings are giving out and they make a horrible screaching noise, the only remedy is to smack the unit hard several times to make it stop. One was so bad I snipped the wire to the impacted fan to quiet it up. The units do produce good air flow and keep the three laptops cool however, to lose fans in 4-6 months is unacceptable but you do get what you pay for. It's a cheaply built unit using cheap parts and sold for a cheap price. Next go round I may opt for a more expensive unit with higher grade fans.

Great cooler at great price, would buy again!
I use this thing just about daily for gaming and I really love it! After some testing, it seemed to drop temps about 3-5c which was about all I was expecting from an external fan solution. I wanted it more for the angled stand feature which I absolutely love. It's just the right angle where I can game comfortably. Honestly don't know if I would ever game on a laptop without one. The flat surface of a laptop keyboard is just not ergonomic at all and I made lots of mistakes when typing before hand. Love the options this thing has. Adjustable fan speed, I usually run about halfway to 75% speed so it's not as loud. The quality is very nice, it is a sort of stronger style mesh on top and the plastic seems pretty durable for going to and from. I use it on my office desk and in the dining room sometimes and it feels like it will hold up for a long time. If you are looking for quality, features and a great price then I highly recommend this laptop cooler. I have not regretted purchasing it at all!

With Red Hot Lighting It Keeps Things Super Cool
My Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series laptop was emitting a little too much heat and causing a discoloration to the natural wood dining table where I use the computer most. My son suggested a Laptop Cooler - so I decided to purchase one similar to my Grandson's unit which keeps his Super Hot Gaming Computer cool as a cucumber! I received it today from Amazon and am extremely pleased. Well packaged for delivery it came in one day and I am pleased with the quality of workmanship. Using the enclosed USB cable I set it up within seconds and it works incredibly well. The cool air is distributed evenly and, I might add, very quietly. You have to stop and listen to hear the five fans working quietly. I am also impressed that it has an 18-month warranty. I registered the product on line and am very delighted with the HAVIT 5 Fans Laptop Cooling Pad for 14-17 Inch Laptop computers. I give 5 Stars to the HAVIT 5!!!!!

Great Laptop Cooler!
Excellent build quality laptop cooler and it's only a little loud on the highest fan setting (I have it on 3/4 fan setting). Using RealBench which theoretically stresses out you CPU and GPU to unrealistic maximum load and temperatures, my CPU and GPU did not throttle and I seen a 10 degree drop on the GPU and 15 degree drop on the CPU which IMHO is pretty impressive. I only wish the laptop cooler had a button to turn off the bottom two fans which are not needed with my setup and an button to turn off the LED's, otherwise this the best laptop cooler I've own to date and inexpensive too (I've bought much more expensive laptop coolers in the past). Can't go wrong with this laptop cooler all considering the price and cooling efficiency, Havit also seems to stand by their product too (from reviews on Amazon.com) with a one year warranty. Pros: - Cooling efficiency. - Fan speed control. - Price. Cons: - No LED off button. - No options to turn off bottom two fan or top two fans. - USB ports are upside down.

Throttling issues all GONE
My PC recently went boom, and I was forced onto my work laptop (which is a decent HP with an i7-8550 and MX150 GPU). A few very low stress games were OK, but going to play most newer games the Lag and juttering just goes through being OK for 3 seconds, then slow and laggy for 10 seconds, and then back to ok for 2 seconds. These are all the signs of thermal throttling where the chips heat up to much and the laptops lower the clock speeds of them (lowering the power). Nothing you set in windows will change this kind of throttling, as its a safety measure of the chips. On a whim I bought one of these, and OMG they work. Oh boy do they work. No more throttling, on any game. Division 2 went from about 18 FPS on average, to 45 FPS! Even though the fans make a tiny bit of noise (they are low speed), its actually also much quieter in general as the internal fans barely come on! Do I recommend it, HECK YES I DO! The only caveat I would add is that my laptop has a aluminum chassis, and its probably much more effective on those than say a plastic one as the heat transfer is much better. But It should still be very effective for you. But yeah, my laptop is chilled through, its great.

Awesome
The product is pretty good. This reduced my GPU's temperature by about 10 degree celsius.
