Great part for connecting garden hose to tubing.

These fittings are a dime a dozen in brass and other metals, but very hard to find in polymer (PVC, ABS, etc.)I'm using it to adapt the Sicce Ultra Zero 793gph water pump, which resides at the bottom of the reservoir for my 45gal hydroponics system, to a short length of tubing to send the water out through a series of other fittings and a hose whenever the system needs to be drained. Strange that the pump is threaded for GHT, but it's a good pump. The fitting works well, although I tossed the gasket it came with (seemed too thick at a glance) and replaced with a thinner one I had laying around.

I bought this item because the description gives a clear picture with all the exact dimensions shown. Other similar items descriptions were all ambiguous, not stating whether the specified diameter was inner or outer, so I couldn't decide if they will fit. I paid the higher price of this item since I knew it should fit if made according to the specifications shown in the description. That is pretty much what was good about it. The quality of the item I received was poor or the thread was broken previously. It was very difficult to screw it right, it tend to always go at an angle. After several attempts, it worked. I will use it while it works, but won't recommend it.

It has sharp teeth to keep it from backing out. I used it attach a garden-hose style quick-release to a utility tub hose, and it's perfect for this purpose. Warm up your hose in a pot of hot water in the stove to make the hose pliable for inserting the coupling. That's easier than trying to run hot water on the end of the hose.

The picture of this in the ad shows a one piece fitting, no matter how I enlarge the picture it is one solid piece. Ordered a one piece fitting - receiveda two piece fitting.Works perfectly but being a 2 piece fitting I wonder if it will leak. Water damage is the worst.4 stars instead of 5 because of the deceiving picture.

Workable if you don't mind a little puddle, but definitely not good for washroom or under sink applications.

I bought this for draining a dehumidifier. When I tightened the adaptor onto the male hose fitting, the threads slip. It will stay on, but you can't make a tight connection. I am not a gorilla, I have average strength, and I didn't even tighten it as hard as I could. A second hose-to-38 inch tubing adapter, made of brass, that I used after this one worked fine and could be tightened without the threads slipping.
