Victorian Lady Rotating Porcelain Doll For Elise Wind Up Music Box Collectible 17" (Pink, White)

I bought this intending to give it as a gift to my grandmother. When it arrived, I opened the package to inspect it. The doll is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful porcelain, vibrant colors, her clothing was well-made. The doll was beautiful and everything I could have hoped for. Then, I put her on the stand and turned her to wind up the music box and... well, it was awful! The music box was supposed to play Fur Elise but it was flat sounding, played too fast, and was way out of tune. Some of the notes were wrong. It sounded just terrible! My brother-in-law took it apart so we could look inside the music box portion. There was no way to fix it. The music box was designed wrong and will always play fur elise incorrectly. He took it apart so that, when we twist the base of the doll and wind her up, she'll spin but the music won't play; she was much better that way. I decided to go to a store and buy an actual music box for my grandmother and I gave this to my sister-in-law who loved the look of the doll. At least the doll is pretty.

The media could not be loaded.  The doll is beautiful. She looks exactly like she does in the picture. From the waist up she has the body of a doll. Below the waist is a flared base that opens like an umbrella to poof out the dress. This means she doesn't have legs so she can't be a standalone doll. The fabric is nice and she feels well made.Unfortunately, the music box is horrendous. Fur Elise plays way too fast, and way too out of key. It hurts to listen to.My four year old saved up her allowance to be able to purchase this doll to replace one that was broken. Luckily she still likes the doll and doesn't seem to mind the music box, for now. I have to step out of the room when it plays though.
