Who's the Boss? Paperback – May 1, 2010

Ron Pace has been one of the top trainers on the country for 30+ years. His book is simple and effective. It's about control and WHO IS THE BOSS. I have a German Shephard and He is very smart and I know this makes no sence-but tests me to see if I will fall for his tricks. He would bring a chew toy to me and drop it in my lap, and like as idiot I would through it, this is my bedroom by the way- he invented a game for me to play, drop the chew toy on my lap and watch me throw it. So he became the boss, clever dog,I really don't want to through a saliva ridden chew toy all over my bedroom- I will admit it was kind of fun-for a while. I lost my pack order doing that. The book is great, follow it-my dog heels, never pulls at the leash, sits, stays and has good manners. IT WORKS. I have read half a dozen books that were useless-this one works.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ron for many years. We've taken several of our dogs to his facility to train. He's nothing short of amazing with dogs and extremely patient with the owners. I couldn't wait for him to write this book. It's been an excellent refresher course for me and something I know I'll read many times. The book is so well organized that you can refer back to separate lessons if you need additional help. You don't have to search the book looking for the information you want. I've been lucky enough to work with him in person, but if I hadn't, I think I would feel like I did after reading his book. It's very easy to follow and understand. He doesn't use fancy words to dazzle you with his experience and knowledge. It reads as if he's standing right there next to you, talking you through everything step by step. I find the text itself easy enough to follow but the addition of the pictures makes it that much better. If you aren't able to work with Ron in person or even if you have, I highly recommend this book. You'll be amazed at what it can do for the relationship you have with your dog.

Wish I had this book 30 years ago, sure would have saved me and my dogs years of frustration. This book is easy to understand and the photos are outstanding. You may not have Ron Pace's natural ability to communicate with dogs but you will have the next best thing, through his book he will coach you through all the tasks that have always been a complete mystery to most of us humans. Your dog will thank you for using the Pace method.

after having spent hundreds of dollars on dog training lessons, I came across this book. easy to follow step by step instructions with lots of pictures. If your a visual learner and want something thats no nonsense, this books for you
