Lemongrass essential oil, cymbopogon flexuosus, is stimulating, refreshing, increases alertness and concentration, relieves fatigue, aids in digestion, relieves aching muscles, soothes gastric infections and acts as an insect repellent. Used within skin product formulations in very low concentration, it is astringent and helps treat acne and oily skin. Lemongrass acts as a good skin toner, but it must be well diluted and used with care.
