I'm one of the people that this works immediately for, & been using it consistently for 1 month
Personally I love it. My skin leans dry, which is mostly taken care of with good serums and moisturizers, and consistent use of sunscreen. Overall my skin looks good. I'm knocking on 50's door with no wrinkles, nearly no lines or sagging. That being said, I can see little skin bits on my face when I look up close. I hate the way make up looks because of it, and pretty much gave up make up 10+ years ago. I have tried retinol products, most very high end, and most are too much for my skin even at low levels. "Retinol uglies" is a thing I cant avoid no matter what routine/advice I follow. Gentler acids are nice for upkeep of rest of face but nothing touching those weird little bits of what I assume are dry skin. There are very few drugstore products I like, but there are a few. I never would have considered trying this Gold Bond retinol product, but I kept seeing it recommended in a Gen X group I am in. Since it wasn't too pricy, and I figured if anything I can use it on body and feet if I dont like it for my face, I decided to try it. I have been using it for a FULL month, EVERY single night. I happened to be someone who noticed a difference with first use, with cumulative benefit seen and felt. My skin does feel softer, smoother, and the weird little bits arent as noticeable. I have even decided to start dabbling in make up again. I still prefer to use some spackle primer, but for once I have not washed my face off right after putting on make up. No noticeable scent. Not perfumed. If there is a scent it is very very mild. I get scent nausea easily and I dont have any issues with this at all. Unlike some reviewers, I DO NOT find it greasy, at all. Nor does it sit heavy despite slathering it on. It is THICK, but it massages in easily, and doesnt make me feel slick. In fact, I would prefer it to be more moisturizing. Yet it does not leave my skin looking or feeling dry. Just not as moist. Does make the next days skin care seem to work better! Because it has retinol (albeit probably a very low amount), I only use it at night. I also use it on the back of my hands, forearms, neck, and chest. If I used it during the day, I would need an added layer of moisture, and my sunscreen of course. With Urea being at top of ingredient list, I half wonder if that is doing the heavy lifting so to speak. I am fine with whatever is in here as it just seems to be working. I already plan to buy another bottle (so I dont run out) and maybe a smaller tube for use on the go. I'm really pleased with the changes in my skin since using this. It has been great for back of my hands which are exposed to light all the time. Even with diligent use of sunscreen, it is hard to maintain that (hand washing, etc). I a glad I decided to try it out on a whim. One added note, TO BE FAIR, I found the bottle a little cumbersome to initially get to open and to get primed to dispense product. I thought I had a faulty bottle, but with patience and effort I got it going. It has a THICK CONSISTENCY, so I can see why it was hard to get going, and why the bottle needs to have added air inside (hence why it feels "empty"--and why the need to remind people that product sold based on weight not volume). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INGREDIENTS: Water, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Extract, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Stearyl Alcohol, Niacinamide, Selaginella Lepidophylla Extract, Steareth-21, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Jojoba Esters, Jojoba Oil/Macadamia Seed Oil Esters, Squalene, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Phytosterols, Tocopherol, Retinol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Ascorbate, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Polysorbate 60, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Fruit Extract, Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Stearamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Butylene Glycol, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Ethylhexylglycerin, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Tribehenin, Ceramide Ng, PEG-10 Phytosterol, Caramel

Works well
I've never been one to use lotions unless my skin got really dry(usually my hands in winter) but as I've aged I've noticed more skin issues and having retinol is a big plus. I have used different types so using Gold Bond is a new venture but it has been around since the late1800s so it's a trusted name. I bought this to help with the onset of crepey skin mainly on my arms. This has helped in the few weeks since ive bought it. The smell is not offensive and is short lived which is a plus. It is not greasy but i do notice a, hmmm, silkiness the next day after a shower so thats a sign its working so it is effective. My skin isnt dry to the point of cracking so I cannot speak to "soothing" in that aspect.

Retinol Without the Ridiculous Price Tag
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gold Bond Body Retinol is proof that good skincare doesn’t have to come with a ridiculous price tag—or a department store counter where someone looks at your skin and immediately finds $400 worth of problems. It feels great, is easy to work into my routine, and the price is fantastic. I can moisturize, use my retinol and go about my life without being talked into a serum that costs more than my electric bill. Great product, great price and absolutely no skincare snobbery required. Five stars.

Great lotion but the pump broke after 3 uses
I bought this Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body & Face Lotion because I wanted something easy to use at night that would help with dry skin and maybe make my skin feel a little smoother over time. Overall, I do like the lotion itself. It feels moisturizing without being super greasy, and I like that it’s fragrance-free because I’m not a big fan of strong scented lotions before bed. I’ve mostly been using it on my arms, legs, and hands, and it leaves my skin feeling soft by the next morning. I also like that it has retinol and peptides in it, but it doesn’t feel harsh or irritating like some retinol products can. It feels more like a regular body lotion with some extra skincare benefits added in, which is exactly what I was looking for. The only real downside is the packaging. The pump top broke after only three uses, which was pretty disappointing. The lotion itself is good, but having the pump stop working that quickly is annoying, especially since this is a larger bottle and the pump is supposed to make it convenient. I can still use the product, but now it’s more of a hassle than it should be. So, would I buy it again? Probably, because I do like the actual lotion. It makes my skin feel hydrated and smooth, and I appreciate that it’s not sticky or heavily scented. I just wish the bottle/pump was better quality because that part definitely let me down.

Good lotion
I use this on my face at night, since using this my skin has looked and felt so nice and so much smoother. It doesn’t have a strong smell or really any. This is my second bottle, and I already purchased another one so when I run out I’ll already have one on hand. I have sensitive skin especially my face and the way my face and skin have reacted to this is nice, because it has not irritated it one bit. My skin has reacted very well to this and I’m happy about that. My only complaint would be I wish they sold a bigger bottle.

A great buy
I love this lotion. It is thick, rubs into the skin well, leaving it moisturized but not sticky.

Best Economical Product for Older Skin
I asked my dermatologist about this, and she said Gold Bond was highly underrated and is a good product with a long history on the market. It definitely works to keep my skin hydrated and lessen the crepey skin. It also works great on hydrating the dry skin on your heels. But don't overuse it. I used to slather this on and it ended up being too sticky. Just one pump was enough to cover both legs and feet. Half a pump will cover your arms and hands. Also, it's a good idea to completely wash it off each time you bathe and then reapply after cleaning each day. Otherwise, it can start smelling funky like expired cosmetics. Gold Bond is on my shopping list forever now.

Don’t know
It was so thick you couldn’t use the pump. Love the lotion, just a hassle to open the container and shake shake to get the lotion out. It’s like digging in the mud!!
