Great little fan
Perfect size. Works well but only one speed, either on or off. It keeps me cool, it is perfect for right by the bed when I need some air movement at night. The air flow is good and it is decently quiet (see video). I had a plastic fan before this that was absolutely silent and I wasn't even sure if it was on if I couldn't feel the air movement, so comparatively this one has a little noise but not bad at all. Design is so adorable and looks nice on my nightstand whereas my old plastic one was ugly. Overall I love it but I am not sure the price was totally worth it. It was like $27 or something and I waited for it to go down. It finally went down to $19 which still feels like too much honestly.

The Perfect Fan For Small Spaces
Living in Sunny Florida, my office get's warm in the afternoon when the sun bakes our side of the building. The solution? A compact, but attractive 6" fan by Holmes! The fan comes nicely packaged, and looks as nice in person as it does in the photos shown on the product page. It's built is as nice as suggested and this thing really moves air. I sit about 3 feet from where the fan is positioned on my desk. The lowest setting is more than strong enough. The high setting will blow papers on my desk. It is quiet. Not whisper quiet, but quiet non-the-less. For someone who needs white noise while sleeping, this fan will do a great job. One thing about this fan I was pleasantly surprised with it is came with an actual electric plug. From what I read, the comments suggested this Holmes 6" fan was USB. I didn't really want or need a USB fan, but I was prepared and had a 5v power brick ready to plug it into. Upon unboxing, I was amazed to see it wasn't USB. If there was one thing I would change, is the base does not have a flat, rubber or felt plate under the fan. It sits flat for sure, but it should come with a non-slip plate on the base of the fan. The reason I say this when I turned it on the first time, it slid around to the left from the position I put it. No problem, I just cut out a piece of paper in the same dimension as the base to sit underneath the fan and voila, it no longer moved when first turned on. Otherwise, this is a great little fan, which moves a lot of air, wrapped in a stylish all metal package!

Great quality, relatively quiet
I've bought two of these little fans now. I've tried a few others because I thought I wanted speed options, but I really only ever used the lowest speed, and the other fans are so much cheaper in quality. They are also louder, lighter, and tend to blow themselves from where you set them. This little guy not only looks classy, but is a truly quality built item. It has real weight and is very quiet for a fan (it's a fan - it's got an electric motor and blades cutting through air - it's going to make some noise). The first one I purchased I've had for around a decade and it's still doing it's job as if it were brands new. If I put my new one next to my old one, you couldn't tell them apart. That's quality. And it's all metal. No plastic, thankfully. I'd give this fan 6 stars if I could.

It’s a great little fan but…
I bought this fan for a bedside table. The size is perfect for that as this is smaller compact fan about 6” wide. It is quiet but still offers enough white noise which I prefer when sleeping. It puts out a solid but not overly powerful blow. I also like the vintage copper look and all metal assembly. The reason I docked it 1-star though was that my bedside table is glass and the fan moves around enough while running to change its position/direction. The bottom needs some sort of a non-slip coating in my opinion to prevent that from happening. I currently have it sitting on top of a book which prevents rotating. Overall though I am happy with this fan so far and would recommend if you’re looking for a small fan.

Surprisingly effective and unobtrusive
I bought this when I was moved to an office on the east-southeast-facing side of my 1960s office building, aka Satan's buttcrack. This fan couldn't change the fact that on a sunny day my office can hit 93F by 11 am, BUT setting it to blow straight on my face is actually surprisingly helpful. It is a very small fan - you're not going to cool off a whole room with this, nor will it do much if you're moving around. But if you're sitting in front of a computer all day, this works pretty well and is well worth the price. You can definitely hear it, but I'd call it a quiet whir. For me, it's not distracting, and if anything is a nice little white noise in the background, but it's not silent, if you're very sensitive to noises. Also, I mostly find it a comfortable level of air movement - not too strong to have blowing on your face for a stretch - but that's subjective, so this might annoy some people. But overall, I much prefer this for its intended purpose, rather than something bigger and heavier that's just going to blow hot air and papers around the room. I also honestly think it's cute - it's really nice to have something metal that feels and looks a little more substantial than you'd usually get for this price.

Small but mighty and worth it too.
I first came across this lovely fanat my eye doctors office. I bought it right on the spot. It's light enough to travel with and use in hotel rooms. You will need have your own USB charger block to use it. I have plenty of those around the house. It's powerful and so quiet. The base is solid and you can angle the fan as needed. It's made of metal so it seems pretty sturdy. A must have if you're having personal summers, too. Buy it you will not regret it. I'm thinking of getting second one. I love the rose gold color too.

Looks good but breeze is weak
I purchased two mini-fans for my desk at work because the air conditioning in my office doesn't always work. I purchased this vintage model because I love the look and it goes with my office decor which I guess one would describe as '1920's Hollywood'. I also purchased another fan, The Homes 4 inch rechargeable mini personal fan. HANDS DOWN, I would recommend the rechargeable version for the same price, even though it lacks the vintage look. The vintage version, I wish came in solid silver. The copper and silver version is a little more feminine looking whereas I think a solid silver option would look nicer in a male centered office. I am impressed by the look and the build of this (minus the ugly black Holmes logo in the center, which really detracts from the look). For twelve bucks, I was surprised that a majority of this is made of metal ... maybe to it's detriment. The other fan I mentioned is fully made of plastic and maybe that's why the blades spin faster creating a better breeze. At best, this creates a wispy stream of air that will not really cool you down. It moves the air in your vicinity a bit making things more comfortable in a stuffy room but for the most part will not cool you the way breezier fans will. Because it doesn't blow very hard, it is very silent. The motor on my plastic mini fan is much louder ... but also more effective. This vintage version has 1 speed, which would equate to low speed on my 3 speed mini-fan. One bummer is that this was just thrown into a tyvek envelope with no packing at all, which meant the box was incredibly beat up and the fan inside was scratched up on the metal where the chord inside slid around. This is some of the laziest packaging I've seen from Amazon. Think twice if you are buying this as a present. Overall, it's an attractive looking little fan. For the low price I will keep it for my guest room in case anyone stays over who would like a little fan noise and slight breeze while they are laying in bed. However, I would highly recommend you look at the all plastic rechargeable Homes mini fan over this ... from a function standpoint and performance standpoint, it's night and day better! If you are going purely for looks ... this little fan is pretty cool.

Super cute
Purchased this to cool my PS5 in the TV cabinet. The usual extractor fans like AC infinity ones are hideous, unless you can hide them somehow. This looks cute, and has strong enough airflow to reduce the PS5 temps by 10 degrees. It also has simple toggle switch, so turns on and off automatically with PS5. Most other fans have fancy electronic buttons, which means a manual press would be required to turn on the fan every time PS5 is turned on.

Completely ineffective
Although the size was known- it was expected to be tiny, going by the reviews, I had hoped it to be strong and effective. The blades spin weakly and it has no effect whatsoever. Waste of $.
