I have purchased five of these backpacks from this brand in three different sizes. I will not purchase another brand as these are the holy Grail. The quality of this bag is unmatched - and the colors are gorgeous.The size was perfect for what I needed it for. These are a great value for the money. They have so many compartments and pockets - which allows you to fit a lot of things in it while keeping it organized. And as is important for any bag like this, we have had zero issues with any of the zippers, and they all work very smoothly. All the different compartments were easily accessible. I 10 out of 10 recommend these and all of the sizes that we have purchased have fit fine under airplane seats as a personal item.

I have the "Large" model, which is actually the smaller version. I bought this bag primarily for use as a maxi-sized personal item to use in conjunction with a carry-on bag for air travel. I have yet to use it for that specific purpose, but I just returned from a 10-day car trip where it got a lot of hard use both as a travel pack and as a day pack. In short, its thoughtful design and durable construction have exceeded my expectations. Some reviewers have complained that their pack was delivered folded in half. Mine was, too, but after leaving it out flat for a few days, the internal stiffener straightened out with no problem. It's a non-issue. Also, there were no issues with odor or missing parts as some have reported. Some have complained about the small size of the water bottle pocket. It securely holds a standard 3" diameter aluminum water bottle in a 20 oz or larger (i.e., taller) size. After heavy use during 10 days of travel there have been no issues with defective zippers or seams coming undone. To the contrary, the zippers appear to be of good quality and the pack appears to be very durable overall. Water resistance was not tested, but the nature of the fabric is such that I am sure it will do well. The features I like the best are the separate laptop pocket (which held a 13" laptop and an 8" Kindle on my trip), the "clamshell" opening (which makes it easy to access things such as a camera or binoculars when using as a day pack), the dedicated wet item pocket, the secure pocket on the back and the various other pockets for organizing small items. One negative: The shoe compartment on the bottom is a waste. Putting any size shoes in there will dramatically reduce the capacity of the main compartment in this relatively small pack. Even when not used, the shoe bag's fabric takes up precious space in the main compartment. Finally, it may sound strange, but there is a learning curve to using this pack effectively. There are so many pockets and zippers that you should plan on devoting some time to familiarizing yourself with its many features--I am still discovering new ones! It does everything I need it to do--highly recommended. .

Just what I needed! Waterproof shoe compartment is a great feature. Looks good, stitching looks great. A simple big interior is GREAT! The external zipper pockets are excellent. Sized to fit under airline seat. I wish the bag did NOT have backpack straps. This bag is small and the straps just add clutter and cost. Add a side handle to give the option of carrying it vertically or sideways and you’ve got a unique and real winner bag!

This backpack is great! High quality with perfect storage capacity and thoughtful storage options. Comfortable with padded straps and a handy strap at the back perfect for fitting over a rolling luggage hard case handle. I have over 6 million airline travel miles so I have some experience with travel luggage.

Wow. I am so, so, so happy with this bag! I've been on a quest to find a bag that fits United's stingy personal item requirements (17x10x9) so that I can travel domestic basic economy for weekend getaways with only a personal item. None of my many bags fit the bill. Some are definitely smaller, but I want to use every precious inch they allow. There are bags out there that meet these measurements, but they're not backpacks (like the Bento bag). I'm looking for comfortable hands-free transport. And I want a bag that opens like a suitcase with lots of features and organization. Basically I want a Knack bag, but I don't want to pay $185. I purchased four bags to test, including two eBags and one Osprey. This no-name $45 bag is the winner! This bag holds everything I need for a 4-day getaway with room to spare. I've attached a pic of everything I fit into this bag. My packing cube contains one pair of jeans, two pairs of leggings, a long-sleeve tunic, a short-sleeve blouse, two lightweight sweatshirts, two T-shirts, five pairs of underwear, and five pairs of socks. My liquids bag is not shown, but it fits. My laptop and tablet are also not shown because they're not coming this time, but they also both fit. However, I would only travel with one or the other, not both, as they impede my ability to squish this bag down to the airline sizer dimensions. I could definitely fit a pair of slim sandals or packable sneakers as well. I like to travel with a small crossbody that holds my IDs, credit cards, money, chapstick, hair tie, earbuds, small pill container, and I can easily stash this crossbody in the laptop section of the bag if I am asked to do so. (It's in the pic.) I made full use of the two front pockets and the side water bottle pocket. There is a hidden pocket on the back of the bag that I left empty for now. The front zip interior pocket is also empty. This bag has an interior pocket for a small power bank and it does have a pass-through port. One of the best features of this bag is the compression straps! They definitely help cinch the width of the bag. The shoulder straps are comfortable, and the fact that they don't stow away is pretty much the only downside to this bag. There is a strap on the back for a luggage handle. There is also a chest strap. It feels very light and comfortable on my back fully packed. So fully packed, ready to roll, consciously not packed super full so I can squish it down, I am able to get this bag to 17x10x6. So I have room for some small souvenirs or for my laptop when needed. I'm utterly amazed. The only thing I'm not sure of is how well this bag will hold up over time. It's definitely not made with the highest quality materials. Though it looks good. But even if I only get a year out of it, I'll consider it money well spent. I'm so happy! **Clarification: There are now two sizes of this backpack. My review is for the smaller one.

Plenty of pockets & compartments to keep me organized when I travel. It’s lightweight, easy to carry & holds a ton of stuff. This has changed me from a carryall tote girl to a backpack user. I highly recommend!

A good option for those that want to get by with a single personal item and not have to pay a baggage fee which these days greatly increases the cost of the flight. I live in a warm climate and mostly travel to warm climates so that reduces the amount of clothes to pack - a few tees, extra pair of jeans, shorts, notebook, one long sleeve and the usual items. Depending on my destination, a sweater or jacket I'll just wear on the plane. With that I'm good for a month+ easily. An extra pair of shoes is tricky, but doable, which is helpful on trips more than a few days. There are so many pockets and compartments that you can forget what you put where, but after a couple of trips you figure out the best way to use them. I've used this on many small and large planes and fully packed it has fit under the seat on all (with a little force sometimes on the smaller planes). After many years of travel, realizing I always packed more than I needed, I've finally got travel down to the bare minimum. I even got my girlfriend to reduce down to a single personal item which is pretty amazing given how much she used to pack! Remember, you can always buy something you might need at your destination. I read some complaints about the durability. The material is very thin so I wondered about it but so far mine is fine after many trips packed tight. For the price, it is less than a single carry on fee, so I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if it comes apart.

Excellent carry bag with room for all essentials including a clever shoe pocket. Can easily carry all supplies for a couple of days travel. Highly recommended.

This is a deceiving backpack. It is lightweight and from the outside looks small. On the inside it fits everything you need.

Currently use it for the gym and all it's compartments enable me to be really organized. Intend to use it for weekends away, love all the compartments, laptop section, shoe area, and wet pocket. My only criticism is that the side pocket is not very useful, a bottle holder would have been helpful.
