How high off the ground are you when you sit in it?

It's adjustable but I feel miles high in this chair. Like I'm floating on a cloud. This chair has restored my faith in al things.

From floor to the seat, what is the highest the chair goes to? I need it to be at least 27" high from the floor to the seat.

At the highest setting, there is 26" of distance between the floor and the BOTTOM of the seat. The distance from the floor to the top seat surface is roughly 30"

Can you raise the seat while seated?

If you rotate the lever and take your weight off of the seat, the seat will raise.

is it comfortable to sit cross legged in? I shift all the time with my legs from single cross legged to full on indian style

It's going to depend on your height and weight. 5'7 and weight 215. My legs are pretty big and I can sit cross legged on here. Barely, but I can do it.
