A little expensive but WORTH IT!
I put this powder in milk in my blendtek blender and it comes out smooth and creamy and delicious! Mixes very well. The Protein quality is great and is a wonderful supplement. This is one of my most repeated purchases.

For those of you who have trouble mixing the powder
For those of you having trouble mixing it even with a blender, I mix it with water and use a few ice cubes. The ice seems to help with the blending and to make it taste really good I put in powdered peanut butter which goes good with the chocolate. Even without a blender the ice is good to help mix it up when you shake it manually but blender is best

French Vanilla and Gourmet Chocolate Purchased
Gourmet Chocolate: Blends ok. I have better results if I shake it and then let it sit in the fridge or on counter for a while. That also improves the flavor because otherwise it has a strange after taste that actually gives me a headache/makes me a bit nauseated. No idea why that is. The protein response is definitely legit, though, so I just push through (and try to make it a habit to shake in advance!). The chocolate bag I have is has one of those hook and loop style closurea which is a bit strange and some product is stuck between the hooks and loops but does allow me to seal the bag. French Vanilla: Blends well. Flavor is pretty minimal. For money, as long as I feel like I'm actually ingesting protein, I'll say it's a win - I will update if it seems the vanilla is not as effective as the chocolate. UPDATE: definitely a solid recovery product so I will keep rolling with it. However, it is VERY FROTHY when you shake it so I add a bit of high quality lemon or orange flavored fish oil (since I need the omegas anyway) and that fixes both the froth issues and the lack of flavor issue. The "zipper" part of the French Vanilla bag is a traditional plastic bag seal and it separated (or was already separated) when I first opened the bag. Living in FL humidity, this is less than ideal. I will likely transfer it to a container once my son finishes his current protein powder that is a different brand.

Great protein powder, low calorie and tastes great
This is my go to protein powder! While it's not super high in terms of protein grams, it's low calorie, no sugar and can be flavored however you like. I order this every single month! Please note: when you empty the product into a container for storage purposes, there is a dusting of powder while pouring it into the container.

Hasn’t let me down
My absolute favorite. The taste and texture are awesome. I’ve been using this for several years. It’s especially great when I am training for a half marathon. I feel like it helps with my appetite and helps to keep satisfied. I like that it helps my hunger because running causes me to be rungry, so this helps to keep my choices good.

No flavor, foams up, only 20g protein per serving. It's usable, just not great.
4lb French Vanilla review. My first time using Designer Whey, after years of using ON brand and then a year or two of not using supplemental protein. I was almost going to purchase an unflavored whey which I had done once before to avoid sweeteners and fillers, but Designer Whey using only stevia seemed okay. Unflavored whey just has as dull milk flavor, whereas French Vanilla sounded like it would be a somewhat enjoyable treat. There's almost no flavor to this product. Some might consider that a good thing, but I was hoping for more. I mix only with water, so I'm not getting any help from other shake ingredients. Rather than buy this again, I would just go with an unflavored whey, since it tastes practically the same and I won't be paying for the stevia and flavoring and whatever else gets added in. I can't honestly say I taste any vanilla, and there's hardly any sweetness to it. For the flavor experience I'm getting with this, I'd rather just get plain whey. This product foams like crazy. Even using the lowest speed on my blender, you end up with half a glass of foam. My guess is that this is probably due to the stevia. (Dan Quinn says hi) All products foam a little bit but this is worse than what I've seen before. The ratio of product serving size to actual protein seems a bit low, with 31g of product for 20g protein. It would be worth it if that other 11g of stuff provided a rich vanilla flavor, but it doesn't. Even this 4lb container won't last very long when I'm using at least 1.5 to 2 servings every time to get enough protein. Other brands will have something like 24g protein in a 31g serving. So somehow there's a lackluster flavor despite having 4-5g less protein in each scoop. I suppose some of that is their prebiotics and probiotics and other additions, which sound like nice things to have, but not what I'm necessarily looking for in my protein powder, especially if that's why it costs more. Small gripe, but the scoop was buried deep in the container. Despite the fact that they have a patented little latch on the underside of the lid where you can conveniently hold the scoop. Cool idea, but the most useful time to implement it would be saving your customers that experience of having to create a cloud of protein dust as they dig for their scoop when they first open it. Although it probably wouldn't stay in place during shipping anyway, because the holder isn't exactly as good as it could be. Overall, for whatever reason I felt like this was a "higher class" protein purchase than I would have made in years past, but I see no reason I'd buy this again. Other brands might use Sucralose instead, but at least there's some semblance of the flavor that it claims to be. If you're already using a product like this and you think it tastes reasonably good, you're just one step away from using unflavored whey and saving money on the other ingredients. I don't hate it, it doesn't taste bad, it just doesn't taste good. It's a usable whey protein. If I ever had to use it again, I would. But probably not on purpose. This was my first experience with Designer Whey, and they didn't really win a new customer. If I ever use DW again, I'll be trying a different flavor. Pros: -Package design -Sweetened with stevia -Flip top lid -Scoop holder on the lid -Prebiotics & probiotics Cons: -Hardly any noticeable flavor -Product creates lots of foam when mixed -20g protein per serving is lower than other brands
