Giles & Posner Sorbet Popcorn Maker, 1200W Hot Air, Blue

This is it. Over a couple of years I'd gone through two Von Chefs - the first died and then I replaced the second with this one - we eat a lot of popcorn - and the Von Chef always overheated and spit out a lot of kernels. This one doesn't get nearly as hot, has an auto shutoff (which usually goes off somehow just after all the popcorn is done) and spits out fewer kernels. It looks a little weird and the packaging is confusing - it looks like it makes ice cream or candy too! - but no, just popcorn. Have had it for about 5 weeks now. We were staying somewhere for a while which is why I took a stab at this one - and we brought it home to replace the Von Chef. I hardly write reviews but I care a lot about popcorn!

What a lucky find! It was one of the cheapest popcorn makers, but don't let that fool you... for one really huge serving, it fits the bill! Really compact, and does the job perfectly! There are some reviewers that claim that not all kernels pop... well that actually is not this machine, as I can personally attest to. The trick is in the popcorn brand. I'm an American expat, so I know what I'm talking about. It's a bit more expensive, but if you purchase Orville Redenbacher kernels and use ghee as the oil, you get popcorn perfection with this little workhorse!

Lovely fast popcorn maker though have a bowl ready as the popcorn will rush out when it starts popping! Children and teens love it for making a quick and healthy snack. If making lots (for a party) it can overheat so really does need to rest between (as advised). Makes a lot in one go though and no need for oil so doesn't need a lot of cleaning.

I bought this item primarily for the colour and it was inexpensive. Well it’s a hoot. It does come with a uk plug (I was worried initially but not an issue). It’s relatively compact. It pops popcorn. I am yet to discover a receptacle to catch the lot as the machine is very enthusiastic and the dog loves it but that said it is a cheep, pretty little gizmo. I’ve had others that probably work better but this makes me smile each time I use it.

This is terrible, please do not buy. It leaves far too many unpopped kernels, the popped kernels fly out at you and occasionally an unpopped one then pops having been flung out of the machine at high speed. It’s literally like being attacked by popcorn and as the kernels are red hot it’s like being under fire. I’d avoid.

Been using this for around 2 years and always works perfect each time. It's loud and sounds like a vacuum cleaner! But it heats up fast and pops the corner quickly. PLEASE BE CAREFUL around children and pets as it sometimes spits out un-popped kernels and these can actually burn your fingers. (And in my case the carpet!!) Keep the un-popped kernels away from little fingers, paws or mouths.... Common sense people... Hot things hurt!!

Nice quick popcorn maker for movie nights at home, no fuss.

I bought it for my son’s birthday and it was a hit!
