Valvoline's modern engine is flawless, but...
This oil is NOT cheap. But if you value your car, keep in mind you can't buy a new engine for $45. This is a preventative investment. I ran Mobil1 extended performance (the one that will take you to supposedly 15-20,000) miles. And changed it at just over 6k. (Early oil changes like this are necessary with city driving, which the API considers severe conditions for an engine) The Mobil1 ran great, I have lots of good things I can say about Mobil1 and their oil. But modern engine is running even better. Upon cold start it immediately is smoother and more happy sounding, and once I drive on it, it sounds leagues better. Not to mention the pedal feel is actually different! My idle is also noticeably lower. My engine seems as though it is under much less stress. Off topic; let your engine warm up for at least 15 seconds before you throw it into gear, but newer engines actually do better warming up when they are driving. letting your engine warm up fully is a myth back from the carburetted engine days. If you want to invest in this oil, you won't regret it, but you could just as easily get away with something $10-15 cheaper. I personally value this oil at no more than $35, which makes it worth more than your typical pretty nice synthetic oil, but not what they charge for it. I will do a few updates as the oil goes through its usage life. I drive a 2017 Mazda 3, with a 2L naturally aspirated engine, which is of course direct injection. UPDATE: This oil has not shown any age yet, after thousands of miles of usage I still think it is a fantastic buy. The 0w20 weight has gone down to $29.99 for whatever reason, making it in my mind completely worth every penny. I previously priced this oil at no more than $35 but I'll settle for even cheaper! Went ahead and bought another 5qt jug for the next oil change, because who knows how long it'll be discounted.

Good quality oil.
Engine runs smooth. I still change the oil at my vehicle manufacturers recommended interval, but I feel confident that it will go a full 7,500 miles with no issues or degradation of oil quality. On my 2nd oil change and love this stuff.

Yes it's a little pricey but it's worth every $
Specifically designed for newer engines especially turbo charged with direct injection. Since the fuel isn't port injection, the intake valves don't get cleaned so they get gunked up. So that's where this oil comes into play and minimizes the amount of carbon build up. Don't be fooled with fuel additives, they don't do anything for direct injection engines.
