(It's an evaporative style so that means your house and belongings will NOT get covered in that annoying white-ish coating, as happens with the fine mist models of humidifiers.). Our model gets filled once every 24 hours and is helping keep our upstairs area from being too dry this winter. We are also noticing that it has helped the skin of one of our cats - she's always had dry skin and sometimes gets a little bit flaky in the winter months. Along with a change in her food, the humidifier seems to really be helping her.
