Setpower Electric Cooler 21QT Car Refrigerator 12V Fridge Freezer

I’ve used this mini freezer two summers and a couple of other miscellaneous times for RV trips etc. I did a lot of research beforehand because I didn’t want to spend money just for a name brand, but I did want something that worked and is reliable. This has been perfect for our needs, essentially doubling our freezer capacity in our RV which makes it easier to go long periods between trips to grocery stores. This runs great on our RV solar system, but the first year we used it I supplemented with a small portable battery to keep it cold overnight to reduce strain on the RV batteries. I agree the latch is a bit wonky, and within a few days I “broke” it, but it popped right back together and by taking some care when opening it I’ve not had any further issues. For completely portable use without our RV solar panels and batteries, I would definitely invest in a bigger battery and a much bigger solar panel than I originally bought to go with it. They cost more money but trying to skimp there probably means a freezer that isn’t working, especially in hotter climates.

We purchased this unit as an upgrade to our existing refrigerator only unit. We’ve done several tests and surprisingly it chills super fast, within 15 minutes. I’ve taken it to the 0° mark and was able to transport frozen ice cream with no problem. We tested it full of food at the 28° mark and everything Was kept equally cold to our home refrigerator. This is a great option for camping and I am so excited to not need any more ice. We’ve also tested it on our small gold labs solar power box. We would do the initial cooling on max mode, using the house plug or car charger and once out of the car, use the eco-mode with our solar box, which gave us at least six hours at the 28° mark. We also have a portable solar panel Which you can hook up in sync and allow it to run for a longer period of time. Our main concern was overnight cooling which we determined that with a six hour available charge on our solar box. It would hold the 28° temperature through the night from 11 PM till 5 AM. We’ve done several tests to see how long the freezer would remain cold without it being plugged in and that is two hours. Ultimately with no sun we can eight hours total cooling time. Then when you wake up in the morning, you plug it back into the car or the solar panel using the sun and continue on. I highly recommend this unit and I am very impressed with its compact size, but yet has more than enough room for all of our items that we typically take camping. the whites it needs to run our half of what our old little refrigerator took when on eco-mode. The eco-mode is super quiet, and I gotta say that the max mode is also quiet as I can hardly hear it so the noise level is exceptional. I would only recommend using the max mode if plugged into a car or house, since that would drain too much from our solar box and cut our call time and a half , the unit does weigh a little bit without food but it’s well worth it to avoid the bags of ice and melted water.

So far, So good. Once it was delivered, (also left on the porch, on it's side), we plugged in and it started to cool. Used it the following afternoon on a drive and hike - worked perfect. We plan to use this on a 3 week road trip in early June so I will report back. PS: Before buying, we did not notice the necessity to provide cooling for the vents when measuring for fit. Just an FYI if you are considering a tight space.

Cooler arrived but sadly did not run. Contacted Setpower spoke with a customer service associate who got the ball rolling quickly on rectifying my issue. Service technicians worked immediately on diagnosing the problem. Setpower replaced the Cooler without issue. New replacement is great. Easy to use control panel. It links to the Setpower app on cell phone. Keeps accurate temperature. Quiet running. Highly recommend this product.

I got this fridge because Inna situation where ineoukd have it in SUV majority of the time and I'm always on the road. Bought this in April and practically used it everyday. Works well keeps everything cool but definitely worth buying the cover comes with it makes a huge different. Amd I like the handles makes it easier to pick up and tote around. And decent size for what I need plenty room for snacks, drinks, condiments and even some medicine I keep in there. And I like the appearance it's a cool even came with stickers or yiu can get your decorate it. But one gripe if any I have is the cord itself. It tends to get very warm at times especially with me leaving it in vehicle. So to save my portable battery I use and power I keep vent from being blocked. Also I bought the cover I mentioned before and try to park in shade so the motor doesn't have to run excessively which does save power when using unit. But also when using AC outlet the connection (in which you use the DC connection into the AC plug) which you have to press together which doesn't catch or locked in like similarly pressing into your lighter plug in vehicle for DC power. The connection is lost easily by barely bumping the connection where the AC/DC join, and you have to press it back together if it get jostled sometimes in the slightest way. I don't know if I'm missing something wish it locked in some kind of way. But outside of that the adapter which gets warms when motor (ac compressor?) In unit is running expensively [note I have left mine on for 8+hrs to whole days runs fine. Also another note my car I used this in is older CRV with a not so new battery and using DC plug in cat without actually driving vehicle runs the risk of wearing by battery down. So be aware of what your vehicle is capable of handling far as that goes. Otherwise the connections work fine and I would use if necessary while driving so battery constantly charging but not while I'm sitting idle somewhere. Or definitely wouldn't with just ACC switched on my battery personally can't handle it to long. Need to get a new one anyway soon and alternator but that's another irrelevant story lol Overall very happy with the unit and praying it last for sometime sp I can keep using it. It's been a life saver plus thinking about upgrading to a bigger unit. Worth a buy and a try if you looking for a good affordable portable refrigerator for your adventure. I use a power station with mine I use usually works great!

This is so practical and affordable that I bought a second one! No more leaky ice cubes! I leave one plugged in on my boat, so I always have a cold beer when I arrive. (I have shore power). The other one lives in the back seat of my SUV for the road trips. The cigarette lighter in the SUV is always ON. After about 2.0 days the cooler will automatically shut off when the battery gets low. Car always starts up just fine. You can program the shut off voltage. I think mine is set at 12.0 volts. Battery still has plenty of cranking power.
