How noisy is this? I've used similar which were very loud and hurt my ears early in the morning! Thanks.

It's nowhere near as noisy as the industrial machines used in coffee shops. I use my grinder every morning and find the noise level totally acceptable and the results excellent. However, 'noisy' is a subjective word, so I've just conducted the following test for you. I put a 'rapid-boil', jug-type electric kettle next to my grinder. I put half a pint of water in the kettle; I set the grinder to 'Fine' and to grind two cups. I turned them on and stood about one metre away from them. I could hear, distinctly, the kettle coming to the boil through the sound of the grinder. (I am now sipping the resultant brew, reflecting on what a kind chap I am to have gone to so much trouble for a total stranger!!)

I wonder what would be the best level for Aeropress. Would have to be a fine grind

I use one click up from the finest setting. It gives a good brew using Aeropress with both a reusable metal filter and disposable paper filters (and no sediment). I also get good results using conventional paper or nylon mesh filter systems.

What grind setting should i use for a cafetiere?

I use halfway round the dial. Good compromise between flavour as a slow/blocked cafetiere plunge.

Do you have to clean the Burrs with a brush after each use? Or can it be done every now and then?

i must admit that I have never cleaned the burrs in the 4 years that I've had this grinder and I havn't had any problems - however, I will now that I know I ought to!  I only use it on espresso setting.
