20x25x1 Electrostatic Washable Permanent A/C Furnace Air Filter

I had our AC guy out to perform annual maintenance on our unit. When he was there I asked him about air filters. We had purchased a different style filter that you could rinse and reuse, but the quality was not really good and it was a real pain to deal with. He recommended that we get electrostatic filters. While he was there I pulled up this product on Amazon's website and showed it to him. He said it was what he was recommending. We have two different sized returns so I bought one In this size to give it a try. I still had a couple more filters of the other size. After having the this electrostatic filter for 3 months, it was time to buy filters of the other size. I didn't hesitate to get back on Amazon and buy the other size of this exact same filter. The filter isn't quite as rigid as I expected it to be, but that hasn't affected its use at all.When I purchased our first filter, I went to the manufacturer's website and there you can sign up for monthly email reminders to rinse out your filter. At my previous house, our thermostat had a reminder on it that was nice. I have found the email reminders to be helpful and a nice touch.

I purchased this because I wanted to replace the disposable filters in my new home home with something washable and more permanent as I feel it is not only more economical in the long run but also better for the environment. This filter and other various sized ones I bought are high quality and very sturdy. They are flexible enough to be inserted into a tight fitting vent from an angle while leaning over furniture or while standing on a ladder but not so flexible that they felt flexible. They come with stickers for you to place on the edges of the filter. These stickers become handles for you to easily pull the filter out of the vent/duct. I like that I could place the stickers where they were most convenient to me as some of my air intakes are only accessible from one side and having the stickers on that side is most helpful. I don't have a home full of hairy critters, so I can't speak to how well they hold up to pet hair but they seem to work very well for cleaning the air in my home. Overall I replaced all 4 of the filters in my home with these electrostatic filters and I would recommend these filters to anyone looking to upgrade from disposable filters.

This works perfectly. I have been using it now for about 6 months and it gets a lot of the dust and dander from the home. It is a pain to wash and I use Dawn dishwashing liquid everytime and take it out back and hose the front and back off really good under high pressure water hose (no pressure washer) So far so good. Heck if it lasts a few years it already paid for itself compared to the throw-away brands. I would say that once every few years fill up the bathtub and let it soak in Dawn and hot water to break down oils and greases that build up and it it should be like new. I had to install door seal tape on the inside of my grill housing so this would not leak and make noise when my fan turned on. Other than that works great and once a month or so I just keep it clean as well as the aluminium filters I installed on my A coil. Need to clean the inside and out of the A-Coil and Heat pump once a year with cleaners.

Nice product. Easy to install and store, but not as easy to clean and let dry as the directions say. It takes several days and sometimes more than a week to have this dry before we can store it. We had to buy two because of this. In the long run, it still saved us a lot of money from having to buy the ones you throw away! Definitely worth it and would recommend these washable filters to family and friends.

Love everything about it so far. I live with four cats in a part of the country with a lot of allergens so its been put through the ringer. My only gripe is having to clean and wait for it to dry, but thats a first world problem at best. I'm considering buying a second one to alternate months with so I'm not having to keep the flimsy cheap one I'm using while the other dries.

The electrostatic factor is a complete unknown but I will say that that the dust does pattern on the filter. So I think it is a real thing. I’ve owned 3 of these over the years and I’ve found that they all worked really well and cleaned up once a month in the shower with dish soap. I hit mine with a spritzer bottle with essiential oil.

My furnace accepts 20x25x2 filters, which are a special order item in my remote area, and expensive! So, I use one of these to back a disposable 20x25x1, and replace the disposable every 30 days. Works like a champ. Have to rinse it out every 3-4 months, but the major dust and pet hair is captured by the disposable. This filter simply adds a little extra filtration, and keeps the thin paper filter from getting sucked into the vent fan.

I used this in my old house ( hoping the new owners saw this) and was so glad I could find one for our new house! I hate wasting and throwing away the disposable ones is terrible for the planet! It is easy to clean and easy to insert!
