I love the Mary Ruth’s brand of L-theanine, I have tried other brands, but this is the only one that consistently makes me calm and more importantly, as someone who suffers from insomnia, upper airway resistance syndrome, and fibromyalgia, which all impair my sleep quality, it improves my sleep quality dramatically when taken before bed. I take it under the tongue for faster absorption. Then I wake up feeling significantly refreshed, which has not happened with any other brands I’ve tried. I love that it’s natural and so easy to take, not another pill to have to swallow. It’s pleasant tasting, pretty sweet but has no sugar, just glycerin, so that’s fine. I like the synergy it has with my sleep meds of not making me more drowsy or sedated. It does not make me sleepy, not even like melatonin, but it simply allows me to feel much more refreshed with the same number of hours of sleep when I wake up. I also am one that tends to get super anxious and jittery from caffeine sometimes. When I’m starting to feel that panicky feeling after too much coffee or energy drinks, a couple dropperfulls of this stuff, and the anxiety is completely gone in thirty minutes. This is high quality, high caliber L-theanine, and I keep returning to this brand because of it. I’d highly recommend.

I’ve taken this supplement before but wanted something I could dose to fit my needs and use quickly. I am postpartum and needed this alongside several other supplements. This brand always impresses me with quality. The flavor is good, easy to administer and is effective. I use it in the morning and before bed. I do feel more focused when I take it as well, however I am taking a lot of vitamins so hard to say this one specific to that. I think it’s a good value too, it’s a decent supply for the cost. Great product! Tastes good. I was interested in trying L-theanine based on friends reviews and feedback. They take it with coffee, helps with focus and combating the jitters. I didnt buy anything for a while as I was looking into what's the best type or brand to buy. My friends used different brands, so since I trust Mary Ruths and take her vitamins, I went with this. It works! Soothing effect, helps with sleep. I use it morning or night but not daily. Im a fan.

I won't comment on whether this helps with "mood" or "natural sleep". The manufacturer can't make claims that it will fix, cure, or treat any disease or illness and by and large I think most supplements don't do half of what they try to claim. That being said, Mary Ruth provides quality products. The bottles are glass but are shipped securely. Even if your delivery driver tosses the box or bag it'll probably survive entirely unscathed. A psychologist recommended this as a first step for a child with ARFID before trying a pharmaceutical intervention. I can't say it has worked, but when the option is either try a supplement or do nothing Mary Ruth is always my chosen option. The flavor is inoffensive, the dropper measures well, and the price isnt outrageous.

This tastes amazing. To me it’s like the lemon lime otter pops I used to have as a kid. It’s easy to dose as the dropper has lines on it and works quickly. Helps ease stress and emotional upset

Not sure what those minority of negative reviewers are talking about when they mentioned tastes. The taste is fine. It's citrusy flavor. I'm only on day 2, and it has made a difference for me. One surprising thing I noticed is that it made me disinterested in cigarettes. I was smoking like a pack a week as a quick way to reduce stress, and didn't like using cigs as my crutch because it's not good for my skin and obviously my inside and etc. anyway on day one, I went to have 1 cigarette and could barely take 3 drags. The tastes of cigs was gross. Later on the same day, I tried again, and it was even worse. I think the relaxed feeling from this product is more desirable to my body than cigs gave me that it isolated the tastes of cig so that it tasted noticeably bad. This morning, day 2, my craving is still lessen. The thought of cigarettes's yucky taste doesn't move me enough to light one up. Hopefully this continues, but in short, it's helping to be calm and relaxed and when I think about things that gave me anxiety, I don't have the same response. Can't wait to see what my progress will be like in 2 weeks time.
