What material is the inside made out of?

I contacted KitchenAid today and asked them what the inside material was. The answer they gave me was Porcelain Enamel on steel. Same on inside as outside.

Is the interior of the pot stainless steel?

The interior of the enameled pot is lined with enamel, the interior of the stainless steel pot is going to be stainless steel.

Is the bottom of this kettle flat ? does it work well on glass topped ranges ?

The bottom is enameled just like the body of the kettle. Ours boiled dry on an electric stove eye and in minutes the enamel melted all over the heating unit and ruined the bottom of the kettle. If this happened on a glass top range it would be a disaster. A design flaw in my opinion.
