Works great, interesting latch mechanism.
This gate is pretty sturdy and does what it is supposed to do - keep our toddler from getting into the room with the cat litter. I did not use the included wall mounted brackets but it still works just fine with the rubber pieces already on the gate. I’m sure the wall mounts would give extra security but we have had zero issue with the gate staying put. The locking mechanism is different from others I’ve seen. You have to lift up a piece and unscrew a plastic cylinder in order to slide it over to unlock. Definitely takes longer than ones with a latch that just pulls out and up. So I didn’t care for that feature. My husband still has trouble remembering how to open it so mostly just steps over it. 😂 Overall a good product, keeps baby safe and the cat can still easily jump over it and adults can step over it.

A Must-Have for Baby Safety!
The Regalo Easy Fit Plastic Adjustable Extra Wide Baby Gate is an excellent choice for any parent or caregiver looking to keep their little one safe and secure. The adjustable width makes it easy to fit in various doorways and openings, and the sturdy plastic construction ensures durability. I love how simple it is to install, and it’s very easy to use—just a simple latch opens and closes the gate with minimal effort. The extra wide design is perfect for larger openings, providing a secure barrier without feeling cramped. The gate is also lightweight, so it’s easy to move around when needed. It offers peace of mind knowing my child is safe while I can go about my day. This baby gate is a must-have for anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-install, and space-saving option. Highly recommend!

Not horrible. Not great.
I have bought five different gates, from this company. They make a great product, and will always come back to this company when I need a gate. That said...this is my least favorite of the five I have bought. It does not adjust quite like the rest. Follow the description measurements. There is no wiggle room. My opening was 1/4" bigger than what is described. It will not fit. If anything...it is slightly less. The locking mechanism is very odd. Not exactly user friendly. This would serve more of the type of gate you set in place, and leave...not remove much. Just step over. It is not horribly made. Just not their best product.

Worth the money just have common sense and read the directions!
Exactly what we needed to keep little hands out of the kitchen! As long as you install it how the directions say it’s stable. I shook it super hard, pulled on it, put my weight forward on it, and it still hasn’t budged. It’s as sturdy as it’s gonna get, honestly might be about the same sturdiness as one of those metal one with a door. For the locking mechanism it works perfectly as it should. The people saying it doesn’t work obviously didn’t push it all the way over and adjust the screw piece to fit the wall. Install it correctly, read the directions and it’ll be worth the money.

Will Not Last
First of all the whole product description talks about how easy it is to put up and take down and how gentle it is on your walls because of the rubber grips and the truth is that if you do not use the enclosed hardware to mount it to the doorway the instructions warn you it will not be sturdy enough and could give out and cause injury to a child that may be holding onto it. So plan to screw four separate pieces to your doorway making permanent holes to repair later once you no longer need a gate, or... use the gate at your own risk. Secondly the mechanism that supposedly locks the gate will give out easily if you try to take the gate down and put it back up as needed. We have had the gate 3 months and the mechanism is shot. We only put it up and take it down once a day and the holes the pin is supposed to fit into will not hold it the pin pops out and the gate will fall right over without being touched. I tried raising the edges of the hole with pliers so this might not happen but it did nothing. As it is I've had to try to hold that piece down with one hand and screw the plastic piece to tighten with the other but even with my small hands this is near impossible because of the tiny space you're working with between the pin mechanism and the sliding part of the gate it's trying to tighten to. More often than not there is a pop noise and the whole mechanism slips out of place and the gate tries to fall if I'm not holding it. This is extremely frustrating. Now it doesn't fall as bad with the screwed in wall pieces but it's not sturdy at and will fall because the mechanism isn't doing it's job. I would say this gate worked the first month and a half I had it and then the mechanism started failing. Thirdly, if you have a doorway that isn't completely smooth, you can't use it at all. Our kitchen doorway used to have a door and there is a thin wood molding piece all inside the doorway that the old door would close against, this means our door frame has about two inches or so on either side of this one inch molding piece, so the way this gate is would never work there because of how it's width is on the two sliding pieces which do not seat across from each other in the door frame. Either way, this product description states the gate is easily removed and installed and won't damage walls and yet when you get the instructions to install it tells you if you don't screw the pieces in the hardware kit to your doorframe the gate is doomed to cause damage to your child because it isn't sturdy enough without the pieces you screw in. Which the instructions tell you to put up the gate first without the hardware, then, when you're sure it's even (I'd use a tape measure to make certain if I were you), trace the rubber grips on your doorframe, take the gate back down and screw the hardware pieces in fitting in the places you traced... I warn you it isn't even easy to trace the bottom two grips to do the install this way. Doesn't sound like such a simple install to me, now you're needing tape measures, drills and screw drivers, or you can put it up without and wait for the moment the gate falls with your baby clinging to it. This gate is beyond frustrating and I would never recommend it.

Loved it and still loving it.
We have used this for different needs: corralling the dog to just the hallway during vacuuming, outside porch as a gate, a limit for our nonverbal autistic son. It doesn't keep him anywhere. He could step right over it, but it's being there signals we don't want him to walk into the kitchen while the stove and pots are hot. I like it way better than the one I had to throw out. I had gotten it from Kroger (Fred Meyer here) on sale. It was a pale wooden one. It was a nightmare to deal with. Constantly trying to adjust it or flip it around until it comes back together again all because I laid it down and it easily disassembled...etc. This one is straightforward. Easy to adjust. I wipe it down to clean it. Oh yeah, I used it as a barrier between the cats' eating area and the dog.

Sturdy and practical
We use this baby gate when dog sitting. It helped us many times when we needed to separate the dogs, especially when they were eating. We have a Shih-Tzu and take care of small dogs only. This gate works perfectly for them. It's sturdy, holds well even when the dogs are leaning on it. It's light-weight, easy to carry around, and to install. The only negative point is that the four pads (two on each side) that touch the walls leave black spots on the walls that need to be washed.
