It's Great!
The only flaws with this rope is that when you place it on the door knob you have to really secure it with something exact (like a rubber band or another piece of rope)

I used to have a pair of these back in the 80's .....
I used to have a pair of these back in the 80's and they worked great. I think they were made with better material. I guess my legs have gotten bigger since then. These are made of cheaper material, they are too short & keep sliding off the door knob. Useless to me.

A good value
Don't believe all the whiners here who left negative feedback. I owned an exerciser like this some years ago with nylon rope and plastic pulleys. It was a great, quick workout at home and I lost the thing in a move. I was glad to get a similar item with elastic bands for only $10. As far as using it, just bind the doorhandle loop with a rubber band or tape. To move away from the door, just add a length of nylon 3/8 inch rope. What the heck do you expect for $10!

It works
In the mid 1980s, I bought the Body Exerciser from American Consumer. It amazed me at how well it took inches off of my thighs. Over the years, some of the plastic pulleys wore down, so I have been looking for a replacement. The Bally Fitness Pilates Door Knob Rope Exerciser comes close to matching the Body Exerciser. It has three minor problems that if you are willing to work with, will do the job that the Body Exerciser does. First, it squeaks. Second, the loop that fits over the door knob has a tendency to slide off easily. Last, the rope itself is too short (I am 5'4"). I easily solved all of these problems. I ignore the squeak. I added extra rope to the loop section and to the exercise section. I have been using the Bally Exerciser and am already seeing my thighs and abdomen tighten up and slim down. The results I obtained with this product were excellent, which made its imperfections acceptable.

Not
The rope was shredding from the day that I bought it. Pieces fell in my face, eyes & hair, so much that I quit using it.

great for a beginner
I got this to try to lose some baby (tummy) weight . Easy to learn. I felt it the next day. The only problem is that it kept either coming off the knob or if I tighten it the door opened on my head (ouch)..

Disintegrates during use
The black rope sheds pieces all over face and chest during use. Danger of inhaling black material shed off the rope. Gets worse with each use. Horrible!

Use this for parts only.
Like most other reviewers, I had the nylon rope with nylon pulley's that finally broke. Couldn't find anything like it so got this even with all the bad reviews. For 10 bucks, it was worth the try. The ropes are way too short and I'm only 5'3". But....the pulley's are great. I took the thing apart and used the pulley's on my nylon ropes and also changed the knob attachment. It works fine now, when I use it!
