The Voice Book for Trans and Non-Binary People

Good knowledge, get to the point.
Very useful in the process of learning to change your voice to match your gender. It's also, in my opinion, very hard to read, and rather rambling. It took almost half the book before any knowledge was imparted, just rambling for pages about why voice is important.

Extremely useful book
A very useful book for trans people who wish to work on their voice as part of their gender expression, but who do not have access to speech therapy or other voice coaching, which can be expensive.

Vague, Subjective and Unhelpful
The book was frustratingly content light, introduced a great deal of subjective terminology but offered little practical or helpful information.

An invaluable guide to training your voice.
I received this book as a gift from my mother because she knows my frustration that I do not come across as male over the phone. I'm FTM and can only speak from a binary point of view. I haven't read the entire book yet but there are helpful drawings of proper posture and even anatomical diagrams. From what I can tell so far, this book shows great potential for helping all trans* people with passing. Sure, you may pass appearance-wise and socially, but the prosody of our speech could possibly "break our cover" and be devastating to those who live stealth. I'm glad I got this book.

A great resource
While this book alone didn't help me get a better feminine voice, it was a great reference as I worked with some coaches and other material.

A very concise book on a complex subject
I find this book is very useful and detailed. This is a very complex subject and the author deals with it well. There is no quick fix to voice feminisation as it is a long journey as we transition. This is a much needed book which has helped me enormously to keep the important techniques current whilst I strive to achieve my long term goals. I thoroughly recommend reading this.

That was recommended to me by my voice therapist.I didn't read it front tk back, but the explanations and exercises were helpful 🥰

Comprehensive Book
An excellent book that gives you as much as you can get if you cannot get actual therapy. If you can get proper therapy that's always the gold standard of course.... Books detailing techniques for trans people are long overdue but still rare.

good book well written
good book well written, I got this as I took part with Matthew Mill in this book as he helped me with my voice and unfortunately I was on holiday when the book was launched.

and the good advice within in
I agree with one of the previous reviews. I think it is poorly written, and the good advice within in, is smothered by waffle. Should have been half the size, and with more direction about how to move through the exercises.
