LASCO 17-6761 1/2-Inch Female Compression by 3/8-Inch Male Compression Brass Adapter, Copper

I have purchased this due to it being described as a 1/2" to 3/8" compression fitting. The 3/8" side definitely fits a 3/8" fitting perfectly. However, dimensions for a 1/2" compression fitting thread are 11/16"(.6875") ID for a set of female threads. Easy to measure with calipers, these threads are .65" and will not fit any 1/2" compression fitting. Furthermore, a male thread for a 1/2" compression fitting it should have an OD of 3/4"(.75"), also easy to measure with calipers. However, the nut measures .5" and is much smaller than a .75" thread that is needed for a half inch fitting.Also, I must point out that the fitting is marked with a P65 warning which as things go it may or may not contain lead.Three stars because it appears others are able to use the fitting on some kind of connector. It however is NOT a half inch compression connection.My guess is that it is a M18x1.5 metric connection for use with 12mm OD tubing.

I needed to reduce my 1/2 to 3/8, i could not find these at any my local store. Works, no leaks.

Was looking for a connector for my air compressor that I was putting together. The check valve was a different size than the pipe I had for it so this worked perfect

This saved me. I needed to get lines from a new sink faucet 3/8 to fit the water supply 1/2. Solved.
