I have a Bose 321 series 3 can I hook this to the back of the subwoofer to turn to 2 speakers into 4 speaker

Not sure there are two different types of db9 cable. one is a null not real sre what that means. I believe its which pins are wired.

Would this work to connect a russound controller cav6.6 with two 3rd party control systems?

If the communication is one way - from the male connector side on the splitter to the 2 females, then it should work. I used it to connect a device that was outputting information over serial to two different PCs - the male was connected to my device and one female to the male serial connector on each PC. Worked great for this application. So the transmit from my source was connected to the receive on the PCs. No adapters/gender changers were required for this application.
