piece of junk
what a waste of time and effort this was. so many things wrong - first of all be prepared to sign up for ten dollars a month for the rest of your life for endless subscription fee. so fine, pay the ten bucks to start then set it up and watch it time out over and over, then finally you navigate through the not-user-friendly-at-all interface and after a half an hour you get a song to play but the lag time from the mic is a half a second so it sounds plain horrible. then you find out in the troubleshooting guide that the HDMI output is really no good at all because if you want it to work right you have to use the old fashioned 5-cable audio/video plugs. so you go find some plugs in the box of useless junk that you should never need again but never threw away and set it up like it was 10 years ago and then the wifi connection has fallen out and you have to set that up again but then the song you are trying to download has timed out and you have to clear the memory and try again... And if you had high hopes of using this with your nice PA system so you can really rock out, forget it. There is no interface for that at all. you get the HDMI-that-doesn't-work output of the RCA-10-yeara-old option, and thats it. sound quality was like AM radio. Audio is intermittent. video hangs up and goes out of sync with audio. JUNK

Great machine. Works a treat. Easy to hide away when not in use.
I wanted a Karaoke machine I could just hook up to my TV and go. Not a big box with lights and speakers, etc. The reviews on this unit were pretty spot on...and seemed to fit the bill. This is a slick unit. Yes, it does require an online subscription to their streaming music database ($10 a month), but the song selection is pretty good/current. I'm sure there are deeper cuts that aren't on there, and I have yet to experiment with the USB port to add a thumb drive with karaoke songs that aren't in their service database. But, overall, the English selection is pretty good.We had ordered a 3 pack of Behringer mics and some XLR to stereo headphone plug cables, but we couldn't hear ourselves sing. We called customer service (on December 26) and they knew right away the issue, the cables had to have mono TRS 1/4 inch (not stereo). Quick visit to our local music shop, new cables, problem solved. We had a great time, singing christmas songs with the kids, a little Neil Diamond, Journey, and Taylor Swift. Secretly, I think it will help the kids with reading, as well. While I wish they would play the vintage music videos, that's a small nitpick, this device is a lot of fun, and much cheaper than the piano based alternatives.

Impressed with their live chat , iOS app is buggy.
Great Customer ServiceHelp with setup has consistently been fantastic even during the "CNY" holiday. I initially didn't expect much from the chat help on their website which I was sure was just pre-sales support but I went back a couple times to the chat help at different hours and always got incredible support.Advanced FeaturesNot related to Karaoke, you can stream movies, photos, music that you have on either a SMB or NFS share. I hope they add support for stream Karaoke this way too.Update: Originally reviewed at 5 stars. Found some annoying bugs.iOS app crashes in all sorts of occasions when interacting with the USB Drive. I would recommend better exception handling in the app.1. More than 38 files. 38 files is okay, any more and the app will crash.2. Any .zip files; The instructions for using MP3+g files are to put them in a .zip container, this crashes the iOS app.Hope they update the iOS app to resolve these issues. I'll update this review once these issues are resolved.

Read description carefully, everything must be paid for additionally!
I was extremely excited to try out a sleek and digital karaoke, but I ended up being very disappointed and had my hopes set far too high for what sounded like an easy, digital karaoke experience. The description makes this product sound better than it really is. The system itself is hard to use and is very slow. The initial description of the product seems to leave out that a paid subscription (of minimally one month) is required in order to access the actual music libraries. There was a promo card included inside the packaging, which helped me give this product a fair shot, until I read the promo card is only willing to give you a free trial AFTER you pay for a one month subscription. Pay for one months and get one month free. What a joke! Customers don't even get to test out the product without laying out additional cash. Very disappointed after spending over $300 on a product that doesn't even come pre-loaded with any songs. Everything must be bought. Please do not waste your money on this product. You are better off getting an old school karaoke machine.
