Handsome and useful cutting board.
Handsome and useful cutting board. Make sure to cut lengthwise with the grain of the wood since the bamboo scars when cut against the grain. Oil frequently with food grade mineral oil to bring out the tone of the wood.

It's a cutting board.
A lot of people are complaining about the tiny splinters but if you read the pamphlet that comes with it, it says it's to be expected. Just scrub a little with a rough pad and some hot water and it's gone after a few uses. No harm in a little wood fiber in your diet. If you use parmesan cheese, that's also got wood in it. "Cellulose". My only complaint is uneven finishing. Some spots are obvious where either glue or finishing oil left a mark. Functionally it's fine, but for the price of a high quality board, it's missing qc.

Can a cutting board be beautiful?
The most beautiful cutting board you will find. Wish it was just a little thicker but the length and width were exactly what I wanted. This sits on my counter continuously and it just looks great. Teak is slightly softer than maple but the knife marks give it character. Really worth the price if itโs in your budget.

Decent board, though could be better.
I owned the Teakhouse's large chopping board and have been quite happy with it. However, it can be a hassle to wash such a monstrous board. I figured I'd order this one as a smaller, secondary board. I've only had it for a few days but since there aren't a lot of reviews, I'd share my initial thoughts. The board itself looks to be pretty decent wood. The boards look attractive and don't look like scraps or anything. There's no gaps or cracks anywhere. However, it could've used a better sanding... the board is a bit rough, especially around the edges (hehe). Now, my board also doesn't sit 100% flat. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty close to flat, but one corner must be slightly lifted. This gives it a slight wobble if you push on one of the corners. Again, slight. I don't notice when cutting but it is there. It's possible it might work itself out as the wood settles, but I'll have to see. If it sat flat, I'd definitely recommend the board but I'm a little hesitant since it arrived like this. Now, if you are planning on buying this board, MAKE SURE YOU OIL IT FIRST. My board arrived dry as a bone. There's nothing wrong with that, but you cannot use it like that. It will surely crack or warp if you don't. See the other reviewer who reported a crack. Their board looks dull and dry... Nothing against them, but you'll surely face the same fate if you don't oil yours. So do it! it'll make it far more vibrant looking too! It truly glows with a good oiling.

Durable
I liked using my cutting board. It is easy to clean, made of solid material and is durable. I liked the colour and finish. Makes a good gift.

Serious quality control issue
Too thin and poorly made. The first one I received had a split between two of the pieces and it extended almost halfway down the board. I returned it for an exchange and the second, while structurally sound, was very rough on both sides, as if they forgot to sand it. I even compared it to the first one which I had not dropped off yet to make sure. I also had to return another larger TeakHaus board I purchased elsewhere because it was also damaged. Maybe I just had bad luck but 0 for 3 makes me believe there are widespread quality control issues and I will never purchase any Teakhaus product again. There are too many other better options.

Lightweight but sturdy
Beautiful wood. Had a woody "fragrance" at first, and when I washed and dried it with a clean towel, some "orange-ish" color came off onto the towel. I'm hoping this is all normal for teak. I've been using it for over a month and love it. It is a slightly giving wood, so it's easier on my knives than my bamboo boards. My husband has a heavy hand when he draws a knife through his fruits on it, and has left many long scratches already. But I don't care! Pretty much any surface will do that, and this one is a cinch to lift and clean or transfer food to the cooktop or plates. It's thick enough not to warp like my bamboo boards, but thin enough to maneuver with ease.

Not a board you can use immediately
Board is dry, edges are chipped and it is not smooth with wood bits that come up. The wood also has some areas of blue-grey-green discoloration streaks which I'm not sure is normal since I don't work much with the material. I'm sure the board will work just fine after some sanding and oiling but know it is not a product I would simply start using without some board care first.

Warped after a few days
Warped after a few days of use. I used it as per the instructions, did not put it in the washing machine, did not let it sit in water, even treated it with special cutting board oil twice. The video showing the warping is after the board resting overnight so it wasn't wet or anything, this seems to be the permanent state now. Very disappointed, really wanted to love this board
