Good detailed informations
First moment i opened book, i thought damm its written like a comic, much text and less pictures, and when there are pictures, they are small and hand-drawen.....but...If you still have some issue how riggin of most usual ships looks like, you will find here in this book, exact those information about different style of rigging, from france-spain( euqal to dutch) against british style; the only bad thing is, those information end at 1720...most modellship-pictures dont show detailes of riggin by different nations, and some books paint france-tops and they write about english ships in text beside, this book explains the different..-------------------------------------Im ersten Moment war ich geschockt, verdammt wie ein Comic mit kleinen Handskizzen versehen, aber wenn man schon ungefähr weis um was es beim Riggen geht, wie manches schon aussieht, so erfährt man in diesem Buch doch genau die Details des unterschiedlichen riggen von britischen zu den holländischen Schiffen( die auch die Franzosen und auch Spanier beeinflußt haben).Es zeigt den Unterschied von den Ties zu den Halliards der unteren Rahen, wo sieht man schon den Unterschied wann und wo was verwendet wurde.

Great book for the experienced model builder who is rigging 17th and early 18th model ships
Really like this. Even though this book has been criticized for lack of drawings the detail of the text and the author’s obvious knowledge of the subject more than make up for this. Drawings that are detailed and very easy to follow.

I never knew so much could be known about rigging ...
I never knew so much could be known about rigging of older ships. I bought the book because I was intrigued about the subject as I build wooden ship models. It's not a spellbinding read for sure but a wealth of information and history.

A good, yet sea-faring technical read.
I like the terms and nomenclature of sailing in a tall ship. Explains a lot of things that I was searching for. I’d recommend it to a fellow sailor.

Me encanta
