I Like This Workout!
First, I want to give props to Amazon...like a few others, I also ordered this and received a different DVD packaged in this packaging. I called Amazon, and they IMMEDIATELY issued me a refund. I reordered this DVD and had it two days later. Amazon's customer service is awesome! Now, on to a review of this DVD. I really like it. It's not as hard-core as Jillian Michaels' workouts, or so it seems while I'm doing it. But, my heart rate monitor says otherwise...I've been burning an average of 500-600 calories per 30-minute workout. So, on second thought, I guess it is! And I can really feel it after I've worked out. I'm so sore!I like the upper body workout...there are some moves I really love, such as the crunch-weighted punch combo (I can really feel it in my obliques!) and the balancing bicep curls. I agree w/ a previous reviewer who commented the plank work is more intermediate/advanced, but that's okay...I modify as needed. The lower body workout is a killer. The first day I did it, I had to put two days (instead of one) between workouts. I was so sore! I was still sore that third day, but I did it anyways. There are also some moves in this lower body workout I really, really love, such as the two different versions of dead lifts. Also, Cindy does a lot of balancing moves w/ the weights which is what I seem to really like.Pros: As others have noted, the cueing is great. I really like Cindy as an instructor. She's perky, but not overly so. Also, this DVD is easy to modify (since Cindy shows you the easy moves before moving to the harder ones). I like this because some days I need a light workout, but I'm still getting high calorie burn.Cons: I don't feel like the warm ups and cool downs are substantive enough. I'm really looking for more stretching after the workout, and I don't feel like I'm getting it. Maybe someone can recommend a good stretching DVD? Also, because these moves can be easily modified, it's easy to slack off and not push myself. So it's a double-edged sword...if I know what the modifications are, I tend to stick w/ them instead of pushing myself. And Cindy's perkiness doesn't necessarily push me to work harder the way Jillian Michaels does.Overall, great DVD to add to your collection. I haven't tried the meal plan, but it seems doable if you're not a super-picky eater, like me. :o) It includes lots of seafood dishes, which I don't eat, so I might take another look at it and see what I can do to modify. I eat most of these foods daily anyways.EDIT: I'm editing my review to change it to five stars. I LOVE it. I find I'm doing this every day...I really like Cindy. I've gotten used to pushing myself (and the workouts are getting easier).

great fitness jumpstart
I recently started working out in earnest after a hiatus from my normal fitness routine. I found that this workout was good for a few reasons: It took care of lower and upper body workout exercises by alternating these two fun, challenging regimens, it was under an hour, you could choose the amount of weight used for your workouts, it has lower impact options if you need to build stamina or have joint issues, it is all about HIIT, which I love and know has given me great results, it is not hard on any of your joints while truly challenging you (for me, the upper body segment was tougher), Cindy Whitmarsh is is clear, concise and easy to listen to--and, encouraging when things get tough! I will say that after 5 days, I did notice a defined difference in my upper body and though my lower body is a little more stubborn, I am seeing more difference after just a week. I did not change my eating at all during this time frame. There is a diet booklet that comes with the dvds and it is a common sense approach, nothing extreme. I do want to respond to what a couple of reviewers said separately--the music is not terrible or great-- but it also the same music used in Jackie Warners Circuit Training and nobody seemed to be bothered in any of her reviews. If you watch enough of these dvds, there is quite a bit of musical recycling that happens in this industry. Some reviewer said that Cindy Whitmarsh looked like a boy in another review. I don't know what to say, other than she is quite fit, with little lower body fat or much fat in general. I think women either tend to be too critical, or want a fitness model that is more relateable (not super skinny). I thought she was fit, attractive and personable. One last thing. I am a Jackie Warner fan, but I was wondering, after having done the dvd a couple of times, if my dear JW hadn't borrowed a little from this--I'll have to check release dates for this and the Extreme Time Saver WO (which could mean nothing, they do time the release of these things and I enjoyed both). My only criticism of this dvd is that the cool down could use a minute or two more. This is a pretty accessible workout for most. If on the fence, watch it on you tube or just get it. It will have a rotation in my WOs after the 10 days for sure.

more intensity
This video was okay. The upper body segment really didnt start getting tough until the end of the workout(it started to get very tough actually) and that's why I gave it 3 stars. The lower body workout bored me after the first 10-15mtes. Unlike the upper body, it is very easy to fatigue the legs. I thought after the first few exercises, my legs would be tired but they weren't; and its not because I am super advanced either. It was like she wanted to give a hard workout, but it lacked intensity; which was disappointing becuase cindy whitmarsh is usually very challenging.

Good Interval Workout
It is hard to find a video workout that is really interval training, but this one is it. One-minute bursts of cardio alternated with one-minute strength-training. Cindy W is friendly but no-nonsense, and 30 minutes works for a daily regime. Because there are two workouts, one for lower body and one for upper, you can do it every day. It is what I would call "mid-range": not too easy, but not impossible for the semi-fit.The cool down and stretch is pretty brief, so you might want to add a little more of your own. Also, I did not pay attention to the diet plan -- it looks pretty predictable, and is quite low-calorie. Read the fine print: it is not clear how many people lost 8 lbs! Finally, I find it irritating when the instructors focus only on body image (rather than health benefits) during the workout, especially when we know that weight-loss, not sit-ups, are the key to flat abs, for example. But maybe people will only exercise if they think they'll look good! But these are minor issues for an otherwise excellent workout experience.

Good no nonsense, get on with it exercise dvd
This is presented by Cindy Whitmarsh from the 10 minute solutions toning dvd. My husband says she sounds like one of the muppets, but I quite like that. She cues well, the dvd makes me sweat and I feel like I've done a good work out after completing one of the workouts - they are about 35 mins long which is all I can fit in with a young baby. No fancy footwork just basic minute of cardio, then a minute of weights. There are a couple of the exercises - the hopping being one of them where I really do appreciate her counting down as they seem much longer than a minute to me! I find her motivational and accesible.I think I would get very bored doing this every day, but I do it once a week and on other days do Jari Love, The Firm (get chiseled is my favourite but again just once a week) Someone Michel who is aggressive and irritating but good when you're short of time. Or I walk, or do a dance class. I think the key to enjoying and sustaining exercise is to vary what you do and don't do anything that you dread, or takes up too much time as you'll find yourself making excuses to yourself. The diet booklet is quite bizarre but the dvd definately worth the money. I use 3kg or 6kg weights and find that an achievable challenge.

Confusing messages
We got a message that this parcel had been cancelled and returned, but then it was delivered. It was very odd and confusing. However, it did arrive, and it arrived in good shape and now I hope I can get in good shape.

Amazing!!!
I am i big Jillian Micheals fan but was getting board of doing her dvd's, I came across this one and decided to purchase despite the cheesy name! but let me tell you this is hard!!! but very easy to follow the moves, the trainer is very nice and encouraging, I did the 2 workouts back to back as i felt 30 min was not long enough for me but even after 30 min my top was dripping in sweat!! I havent had that happen to me in a long time! I have been exercising for 5 years!! I have loads of exercise dvds and this is now my new favorate!!! it has a upper body workout and a lower body workout and I have noticed a differance after 10 days i didnt need to loose any weight but i have lost 2 lbs and inches all over! im a mother of 2 my youngest is 20 months i look better now than i did pre baby's so i highly recomend this dvd its great for mothers as you dont have to do both workouts just one is enough and its only 30 min! if you want to get in amazing shape then go buy it now!!!

2 intense, 30 min workouts - also includes healthy eating plan
This includes 2 quite intense 30 min work-outs, one for upper body, other for lower. It alternates 1 minute of manic cardio with 1 minute of weights/resistence throughout each session, which is said to be most effective for quick toning. I thought I was reasonably fit because for the past year I've been doing Nell McAndrew workouts for 1 1/4 hours twice a week, but I had to sit down for a bit during this, even though it was shorter at only 30 mins :) I really felt like I had done some work. I'm sure you would see v quick results if you did alternate the 2 workouts on this dvd daily - there's even a healthy eating planner provided with it. I haven't been as dedicated as that and I've been mixing it up with Nell McAndrew's cardio and core & stretch dvd because I love the cool down/stretch section on Nell's - it really helps my back and I already lost over a stone with that one. This particular Dvd would be great if you want to lose weight very fast and have limited time though.
